State media said that the IRGC in Fars province arrested eight member network allegedly affiliated with anti-revolutionary and pro-monarchy groups accused of using Molotov cocktails and burning tires during January protest earlier this year. Intelligence Ministry of Iran announced that 111 monarchist cells arrested across 26 provinces. 26 that is almost entire Iran. So why the obsession with monarchists? Well during the January protest if you remember the largest since revolution some Iranians chanted for return of monarchy overthrown in 1979. United Nations says brutality hundreds executed since war started including January protesters, multiple protesters, students, artists, journalists, doctors all of them arrested for protesting. Iranian authorities called January protest a coup orchestrated by US, Israel and pro-monarchists but here is the truth viewers there are no major organized pro-monarchy armed groups operating inside Iran. Protests were about economy about repression not crown. Yet regime arrest 111 cells. Why? Because it needs an enemy to justify repression and while it chases ghost monarchist in Shiraz real armies are actually rising on borders. Iran's biggest armed threat is not in Tehran it is in the mountains. Yes western border the Kurdish fighters acted close to Iran-Iraq border Iran's largest non-state armed threat based in semi-autonomous Kurdish region of northern Iraq for years. Iran has bombed their bases, pushed Iraq government to contain them. Who are they? Kurdistan Free Life Party PJAK, Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan PDKI, Kurdistan Freedom Party PAK. Roughly 5,000 to 8,000 Iranian Kurdish fighters were preparing for potential cross-border operation in the initial phase of this war. They had held discussions with United States and Israeli representatives and the plan? Well Trump administration considered Kurdish groups leading limited ground operation in western Iran to complement US airstrikes. A sort of invasion, ground invasion from west while jets bomb the sky. Why didn't it happen? Well groups said they lacked sufficient weaponry and did not receive clear signal from Washington. Plan not set into motion. By April IRGC sent more troops to border provinces to suppress the forces. Trump later claimed that he supplied arms to Kurdish forces but they kept weapons for themselves instead. But 8,000 fighters don't disappear viewers. They wait for the right moment. Southeast border you have Baloch fighters. Late August security forces said they broke up cell belonging to Jaysh al-Adl. Most prominent Baloch armed group. One fighter killed, six arrested.
