The disrespect is DEAFENING...

The disrespect is deafening coming from Toronto sports personality Sid
Cicero in regards to the Ottawa Senators wanting to do a tribute video
for Brady Kachuck when the Cats visit in October.
I am going to be talking about why I think Sid Cicero needs to stop yapping so much
and bringing up all this hyperbolic nonsense and he needs to come back down to reality.
Stop trying to post things out there and take a stance that sacrifices nuance for debate.
Okay, that's all I'm going to say.
Your takes are so hyperbolic, especially when I showed you guys what Brad Marchand
had to say about Stutzel being considered for captain.
What he wrote on his social media platform when he said,
Why would Sid say, oh my God, that's outright disrespect.
Give me a break.
There's so many worse things that could be said coming from Brad Marchand.
That's nothing.
Again, hyperbolic.
You're also not putting any real, that context is garbage.
So anyways, I'm going to be talking about how I believe that Sid Cicero with what he had,
what he had to say, and I'm going to show you what he had to say
about Ottawa wanting to do a tribute video in October for him when the cats visit and why he's
blatantly disrespecting not only Brady Kachuk, but pretty much all of the Florida Panthers
because his takes are just ridiculous.
Anyways, this is Panthers Digest.
I'm your host Greg Andrews.
Comment, like, share, subscribe, hype the video.
Appreciate everybody tuning in, supporting me, supporting the channel,
supporting the Florida Panthers.
So let's dive into this thing like we always do.
So what is it that this guy is saying?
First of all, Sid Cicero doesn't hold back on Toronto Maple Leafs' rival,
Brady Kachuk, now with the Florida Panthers.
I've already told you guys what he had to say about Brad Marchand.
He also brought up how, you know, Ottawa, the players need to stand up for Stutzel.
And so when they take the ice in October, you know,
get out there and penalty minutes shouldn't be anything.
Like, come on, don't.
Why are you firing up about a really stupid comment that Brad Marchand made
that's nothing?
There's no massive context that said, yeah, I'm literally trying to make fun of Stutzel.
No, he's not.
That's ridiculous.
You're just, again, sacrificing nuance for debate.
That's all this guy is doing.
And he leans so heavily into contrarian and hyperbolic takes.
It's, oh my God, it's like, it's infuriating if you're out there
and he talks about a player on your team or your team or anything, pretty much.
It's insane.
So this is what he had to say.
He says the Ottawa Senators this week did talk about the Brady Kachuk return on Wednesday,
October 21st at Canadian Tire Center.
And he let it be known that there will be a welcome back video for Brady Kachuk that
that night in Ottawa.
But let me put this on the table.
How many Senators fans are going to be there on October 21st and go home and go?
I'm really disappointed that we didn't honor the coward who demanded his way out of town
back in June 21st.
Man, this pisses me off.
Not everyone deserves a video.
And he continues on and says this.
They don't care about you.
Why do you care about their video?
It's pathetic.
This stuff has to end across the board in all sports.
Brady Kachuk was done with you 18 months ago and you knew it.
Do not honor this guy.
He spat in everyone's face.
He lied to you on the way out.
Don't thank him with a video, please.
And I'm going to say this to you, Sid.
Your takes are dumb.
They are horrible.
What you are saying here, it's like the guy literally ran the organization into the ground,
didn't show up and didn't play for eight years with the team.
That he didn't go out and do his philanthropic duties as he should as a captain.
He did all of that.
The humanitarian things that he did.
He was great with the fans.
Go look at posts from Brady Kachuk and the Ottawa Senators from his career as an Ottawa
Senator and look at the comments that people make.
Yes, the last year was a little bit rough around the edges, but also the way he went
about seeking a trade wasn't like he came out like Matthew Kachuk did in Calgary and
literally sat in front of the cameras and the bright lights and said, I want out of here.
He did it behind closed doors.
He did say at the end of the year, he was going to stay there.
His heart's in Ottawa, all of that.
I get that.
But every player that is out there will pretty much start everything like that.
That's how they're going to go about this.
And I don't care what you, how you guys feel about Brady Kachuk.
He didn't handle it inappropriately by coming out in the open and saying, I want out.
I will only go to the Florida Panthers.
He kept it behind closed doors.
Yes, the owner came out and said, or the GM, whatever it was, came out and said that, yeah,
we were telling him that we'd like to extend him.
Is there a possibility of it?
And he didn't waste time with the organization and say to them, oh yeah, I might.
And then after one year, when he's got one year left on his contract, then seek a way out.
He did it at the right time to not waste the Ottawa Senator's time.
He was like, I want out now.
So that way, you know, they can get their picks like they did from the Florida Panthers.
He did the right thing.
So Sid, I think your take on this is just completely off base.
Again, so unbelievably hyperbolic.
It's nuts.
Because I'm going to show you some things on here in just a minute about what Brady
did for the city of Ottawa, what he did for kids, what he did for organizations, all of that.
Again, the humanitarian things that he did were fantastic.
The city loved him.
They really did.
Yes, that's changed because he wanted out.
But again, he kept it behind closed doors.
All the things that we heard about him actively wanting to seek a trade didn't come out until
after he ended up getting traded.
We heard little bits and pieces that were more rumored, but nothing that was a 100%
factual that, oh, yes, he indeed.
I mean, I was reporting on it before the season even came to an end for Ottawa.
I said, I believe that there is going to be some truth to the rumors that Brady Kachuk
is going to be traded to the Florida Panthers.
I believe it because of all the things that have happened in the Olympics and stuff.
But anyways, let's keep going here.
So let's take a look at Brady Kachuk's numbers with the Ottawa Senators.
His eight-year tenure there was not a bad one.
Very good.
Great in the face-off circle for the face-off win percentage.
I've already said that.
I don't need to go too deep into these numbers.
He was a very, very good captain.
The last year of him being with the Ottawa Senators, rough around the edges because of
everything that kind of transpired as the season went on.
He got hurt as well and didn't play a full 82 games, only 60, but still put up good numbers
at 59 points on the year.
He's been a solid player.
Everybody knows how he plays the game.
But again, I just need people to understand.
Stop looking at Brady Kachuk like he is some villain that ran the organization into the
ground.
He didn't.
He just helped you guys get multiple first-round draft picks from the Florida Panthers.
He could have taken you for one more year of a ride and said,
all right, I want to be traded now.
But that's not the way it went.
I think he did a good thing for the organization.
Instead of keeping you and stringing you along and then saying he does want a trade
next season.
This is a bigger thing to help the team.
I don't think he did really bad.
I know people are PO him about this, but I will tell you this, Sid, the guy is top-notch
when it comes to dealing with fans.
He is great with the fan base.
Always has been in Ottawa.
People said they love that about him.
He would always sign autographs, take pictures with people.
Hell, he did that.
In his very first day at the iceplex, at the Baptist Health iceplex, very first autograph
he gave was to someone who just handed him a jersey.
He was walking through the hall.
Somebody saw him, gave an autograph, took a picture.
Nicest guy ever.
People say he's a great person.
Don't say just because all of the things that transpired.
Oh, he's this ultimate villain.
People need to be crapping on him left and right.
He's going to just receive all of these boos, boos, boos, boos, boos.
Fans, senators, fans, everybody out there.
I know he was your number one hated guy because he was an Ottawa senator.
It's a big rivalry.
But, Sid, do you forget that it's not just about on ice, it's the off the ice things
that this guy did.
Like I said, he was nominated for the King Clancy Memorial Trophy four times in his eight
years.
Four times.
I'm going to read to you.
What does the King Clancy Memorial Trophy stand for?
It exemplifies leadership qualities on and off the ice, and it's for a player that makes
a significant humanitarian contribution to his community.
Four times he was nominated.
Four.
He has done a lot, and I'm going to show you some of the things that he has done.
So take that into consideration instead of throwing him under the bus and throwing dirt
on him and being like, he's the worst.
Oh, he's terrible.
He spit in your face.
All of this.
He didn't spit in your face.
Doing that, he could have been like, no, I'm out of here next year.
I don't want to stay.
I'll tell you all the things you want to hear that.
Yeah, I'll sign, you know, I'll sign an extension after next season, but then you don't do it.
Then you were like, I'm out of here.
I don't want to be here anymore.
Brady Kachuk nominated for King Clancy Memorial Trophy for the third straight year.
This is back in 2025.
Here's a look at some of the philanthropic things that he did.
Snapshot.
Senators Captain Brady Kachuk gives an assist to BGC Ottawa.
Brady and at the time, fiance Emma will offer their time, energy, expertise, and just be
there to improve the life of children and youth.
They've done great things up there.
He was great for the community around him.
Here he is.
Time and time again, the Kachuk, whatever it says there, steps up for the community.
Celebrating the contributions of the Kachuk captain's program in the Ottawa community.
He gave $215,000.
Awesome.
Making a lasting impact for children and youth in our community.
Great.
And here are some of the comments.
What a great human being.
What great human beings they are.
Proud to have Brady as our captain.
Brady is a damn rock star.
I appreciate him so much for doing stuff like this and taking time with my kids at the red
carpet.
Great captain, great role model.
Love you, Chucky.
So awesome.
I don't think all of the Ottawa fans are going to be so salty towards him.
Again, he didn't leave in this abrupt manner coming outright and stating, I don't want
to be here anymore.
I only want to go to Florida.
He said that behind closed doors and it was actually their owner and GM who came out at
the very end of this thing when it was done and over with and said, oh no, he came to
me and said that he didn't want to sign an extension and he wanted to be traded.
I bet you there's a little bit more to that.
And I know they're probably not the happiest people when they found this out and they were
told this.
But in a way, I do think Brady, again, it's going to be salty for a bit, you know, the
pouring salt on the wound, it's there.
But I think the time will heal wounds.
I think he'll get more of a better reception.
He'll get some booze, obviously.
But I think the fan base as a whole and Sid needs to pull his head out of his rear end
and stop doing this crap that he always does, like he did with Marchand blowing that out
of proportion, just like he's doing here.
I think it's the right thing for Ottawa to do.
He was there for eight years.
He did a lot for the community.
It's not just on the ice.
What they contribute is what the guys do off the ice as well.
And he was a great one, great humanitarian, great with the kids, always sacrifice for
the fans.
That's something I think the Ottawa senator fans will remember and say that, hey, he was
great with that.
Things got a little heated to with, you know, the politics and everything with what was
going down here.
And a lot of people are saying, oh, he was wanting to leave because of the hate that
Americans are getting with all the things happening politically, which I hate talking
about.
I'm not going to get into that crap.
But a lot of people, if you read some of the more newer comments in the last about 10
months, you'll see some pretty nasty stuff.
And all of it's like politically motivated and ridiculous.
They're forgetting who he is as a player, who he is as just a human being and the things
that he's done for the city.
And that's what needs to be remembered here and taken into consideration with doing a
tribute video.
So I think shame on you, Sid.
Shame on you for saying these things that he turned his back and spat in your face.
Ottawa senator fans.
I don't think so.
If he did that, like I said, he would have said, I'm out of here next year.
Come out in the open and do exactly the same thing that Matthew Chuck did.
I think he did you a service by being like, I'm going to be honest.
I'm not going to sign an extension.
I don't want to be in this organization anymore.
This is where I'd like to go.
You guys got picks.
I think your team is going to get better faster because you made the playoffs in the last
two seasons.
Before that, it was a lot of DNQs for four years and you had about a decade where it
was actually pretty good making the playoffs.
But in Brady's absence, you're going to have a hell of a lot of picks in the upcoming years.
The team's going to get better.
I think Brady did you guys a better thing than if he would have been like, I'll stay
for a year.
And then this all happened next year would have been much harder, much, much worse.
But anyways, getting back to this too, Sid, if you're going to spit on Brady could Chuck
like this.
Why don't you talk about Daniel Alfredson as an unrestricted free agent?
He left and went to Detroit.
He could have stayed and he was a captain.
That was in 2013.
What about 2014?
Jason Spessa requested a trade and was traded to Dallas.
Why don't you talk about those guys and what happened?
I said, it's spitting on Brady could Chuck.
Those are two big, big, big names that were major captains, big parts of the organization
back in the early 20 teens.
You're not talking about those guys and making comparisons.
No, you're not.
Only Brady could Chuck because he has a target on his back.
The whole Florida Panthers organization does because they are stacked.
They're ready to take on the rest of the NHL.
They're the favorites to win it for a reason.
So Sid, shut your mouth.
Stop talking trash.
Don't be so hyperbolic with everything that you're coming out with.
Oh my God.
It's just like, it's insane.
Just listening to some of the stuff that comes out of your mouth.
It is insane.
Stop talking nuance just for debate.
Okay.
My God.
Sorry.
Start.
Stop sacrificing nuances.
What I meant to say for the, for, for debate.
Don't, don't do that anymore.
And, and by the way, you should probably use things that are factual in what you're saying.
So you can kind of back up what you're trying to say.
That's all I got to tell you, man.
But anyways, guys, let me know in the comments.
Do you think Sid is wrong in everything that he is saying?
Is he being completely hyperbolic?
Is he just doing this just to get a rise out of people like me?
But I like to attack this stuff because to me, it's interesting that a guy who's been
in Toronto for so many years can only go about trying to smack these players around and be
like, Oh, he's terrible.
He's terrible because of this and not really backing up what he's trying to say.
It's, it's, it's a lot of just, let me just give you my opinion.
And that's, that's it.
Instead of giving facts, like I did in terms of the video is worth it.
He's been there for the community.
He was a great leader.
He was great with the kids.
He was great with the fan base.
Things got salty at the end, but it happens all around the NHL when players become unrestricted
free agents and they don't resign with the team or they end up getting traded somewhere
else.
Then it comes out.
They wanted to be traded or something.
It happens all over the place.
And you're just putting him under a microscope.
I don't, you know, like, stop doing that.
I know you hate the guy.
I know you probably hate the Florida Panthers, but be careful what you say.
All right, guys, that's it.
Until next time go cats.
