Today started out so incredibly hot and humid here in Michigan that Jamie had to come home early from working at the cabin house. Since it was way too warm to be doing outside chores, we decided it was the perfect day to open up the swimming pool and take a dip! Eleanor wasted absolutely no time and leaped right into the water to rescue her favorite squishy ball. She loves the water so much and gave us the absolute best wiggles after getting out.
Kira took a little more convincing. She stood on the edge of the pool for the longest time trying to decide if she was brave enough to jump in by herself. I spent quite a while cheering her on and giving her all the encouragement she needed. Eventually, she made the big leap and realized just how amazing the cool water feels on a hot September day! We even had the kids come over for a fun afternoon swim party to beat the heat, especially since John Matthew had a rough day at school with a bee sting.
Our Michigan weather is so completely unpredictable right now. We went from a bright sunny day with intense heat to a massive wave of thick fog rolling through the trees right after we ate some amazing burgers for dinner. We also caught a silly squirrel in the tree throwing acorn shells right at us! We finished the evening with a spooky walk in the fog with our Siberian Huskies before heading to bed. Life is short, Make memories with your dogs!
