Italy vs New Zealand Highlights | FIFA U-20 Women's World Cup 2026™

Italy are on cloud nine after their opening game victory over three-time previous champions, the USA, while New Zealand come into this clash with work to do to keep their knockout dreams alive. Forced to defend here, Italy trying to drive away forward the opening goal, surely while they weren't too far away. The space just not there. The Charbica to operate in, it's Galli once again, she gets the shot away, oh not too far away. Here's the chance and it's a massive one and it's a big save in response. She thought she'd done it again. Pia has a go, oh you can hear the gasp there. Zamboni, an inviting ball that stopped incredibly well, there's the strike, there's the goal. Rosanna Ventruglia sends Italy, the bench, their fans into raptures. Pia, she keeps going, Pia sets it up nicely, off the crossbar, wow, how's that not gone in? And the goal is given. This is the better angle and bam, yeah, clear to see. It is a second for Ventruglia. Waiting on the final whistle to be confirmed as through into the knockouts, there's another good ball, oh it's classy. A stunning little lob from Karina Pia. Italy have done it through to the knockout stages, patience and persistence. Italy through to the knockouts, beating New Zealand by three goals to nil.
