The truth has already been revealed behind the Bruins' decision to not sign Chris Kreider
as he is officially signed with the Montreal Canadiens. We're going to be breaking it down
going over how multiple names have affected Don Sweeney's decision as well as how other names can
make more moves even more possible without the addition of Chris Kreider. Most people have to
break down here in today's video as a very interesting signing happened in the Atlantic
division and it has not involved the Boston Bruins directly. We're going to be like touching
on it again like I said in this video. Before we do get into it folks if you haven't already
be sure to drop a sub here on the channel. We're on the road to 9k we have a lot of stuff coming
the season's only right around the corner and now this gives the Bruins more options to do
changes on the offense inside the organization and we're going to touch on those players here
I want to get straight into it though because I was about to make a video touching on Chris Kreider
once again how it was a very likely option that the Bruins were going to get him and ultimately
it was not the case. You see this here from puck report NHL breaking Chris Kreider signs with
Montreal one year 2.15 million dollar AAB up to 3 million in potential bonus. This was shocking to
me honestly I think that's the easiest way to put it because from what we've heard from everything
we have seen even going as far as Pierre Lebrun saying this Boston naturally is among the potential
fits for the Massachusetts native but my understanding is that it could list every team
that made the playoffs in the east eastern conference last season as possibilities as well
as a few select teams in the west basically the sense is that Kreider was keeping a pretty open
mind to his options entering this weekend but it's getting to crunch time and now that is
officially passed over and there was a lot of things linking the Bruins but it ultimately did
not happen and I'm going to touch on a lot more of those here in just one second before we do

folks once again Chris Kreider was pretty much all but signed to the Bruins for at least the time
he was a free agent after clearing waivers from the Anaheim Ducks and even going as far from Pierre
Lebrun to say this that it could happen as early as before the end of Saturday even and that was
you know confirming at that point I think a lot of people were leaning more towards Boston
you know playing at home playing you know what could be your final couple of years and
right now signing a one-year deal kind of exploring a few other teams but it was not the case and it
may have been an option of the Bruins rather than them or Chris Kreider not choosing them I should
say and there were a lot of teams that were thinking about claiming Chris Kreider from
according to reports and you see this here he had one year left on his deal at 6.5 million
the actual cash left was four million because of that there were four to five teams that actually
had interest in simply claiming him on waivers but Kreider's agents strongly dissuaded that
those teams you know from obviously would not have played there or the threat of not playing
would have been the biggest option but this may be a kind of dodge of the bullet for the Boston
Bruins if we're looking at it because of how this team is currently structured we've spoken about a
lot of defense here on the channel over the past couple of days and weeks but I think the Fords
are in the same group is that it is very very busy to say the least and when we look at the
depth chart right now and we look at the offense we look at the defense there really is no room
for as many Fords as this team has now Chris Kreider would have been a good fit on this team
but that would have made one of these Fords have to leave the you know at least right now leave
the lineup and if we're putting it into who it could have been Sean Corrales is probably leaning
into my first or if we're looking at it right now as it stands James Higgins may be starting in the
AHL but right now at least with Chris Kreider not signed officially and you know not going to
be signing with the Bruins it seems like they wanted to keep this offense at least structured
similarly to this because there is a lot of names that are at least on the edge of a spot at the
NHL level and I mean not even those in the lineup if we're looking at the lineup right now keeping
in mind of you know James Higgins, Frazier, Mitten, Murat, Kuznatinov being the three youngest on
you know this offense and looking to really make an impact here on this season at least
as a permanent spot you're looking at the extra Fords as well of Ivan Ivan, Lucas Reichel, Matt
Poitras, Alex Steeves, Mike Yasima some younger options there some more veteran options but
you know Lucas Reichel if he pushes for a spot you know he's going to be getting that
Matt Poitras the same for him as he still remains unsigned Ivan Ivan as well as a name that they
someone who still has a lot of skill but also still has more experience that is needed before
fully cracking an NHL spot Chris Kreider would have taken away from at least one of these names
and although a lot of people are more so calling to package some of these players potentially
I don't think it would be Ivan Ivan I don't think it would be Lucas Reichel I wouldn't really say
Alex Steeves and that really leaves Matt Poitras and Mike Yasima as options when it comes to a
alongside a defenseman like Mason Lowry and even on that side as well it's still a very busy defense
that you have a lot of young names trying to crack the lineup that it will have to be determined over
training camp who makes it and who doesn't because I think we're going to see quite a few surprises
and also some tough decisions that are going to have to be made by Marco Sturm and the rest of
this staff so looking at the option that Chris Kreider brought to the table although he's a
solid forward he was someone that certainly would have given this team a big boost in the bigger
picture the you know remaining options that this team has on not just the offense but the defense
as well they wanted to work with what they had rather than bringing someone in and perhaps
ruining what could have been someone else's road to the NHL like they have done with Fabian Lysel
and Georgie Mirkov over their career and looking at someone like Chris Kreider who although 50
points in 75 games last season 22 goals 28 assists someone who at the age of 35 still
has what it takes to be a high level player in the NHL then you also look at his career
that history as a very very solid player I mean this isn't him right now actually but
you're looking at Chris Kreider as an option on top of all of that he is someone that makes a lot
of sense for a team like the Bruins right now who are still a little bit older but getting much
younger and you know looking at the price tag of the projected contract I should say two years by
5.5 million took a pay cut maybe that's the play with you know Montreal Canadiens that the team
he chose more so or the Bruins passed up we really don't know at this point what we do know is there
were a few other teams in on Chris Kreider but looking at him right now it does make sense why
the Bruins decided to you know pass up on him names like Mason Lorac can still get traded giving
the option for the team to still have a lot more money to spend over the next couple of years
uh you know bring a lot of younger names that can you know have an opportunity to crack the lineup
it makes sense and although I do like Chris Kreider as a player thought he would be a great
player for this Bruins team and he made a lot of sense I don't hate the idea of passing up on him
either to you know make sure you're getting opportunities for a lot of the younger players
who will have a longer lasting impact on this team so both team your thoughts down below but that is
all I have here in this video if you did enjoy give it a like hit the sub button as well I'm
signing out thank you for watching hope you have a great day
