I forgot scissors, so me and that tag are going to be besties. Hello, welcome to a new vlog. I've got everyone in the room with me. I am mid-shoving on makeup because tonight we have the NTAs. It's going to be a Slickback vibe. I'm not going to go too hard on the makeup because if it gets rained on I'll just be really sad, so we're going to go for like a little minimal glam kind of situation. I'm on the new camera, so can you all let me know if you hate it? If you do hate it I will be really sad because... How are we? I freaking love that dress, it's so cute. You look really cute today. Um, do I? Yeah. I feel like I'm so hot. Are you so hot? Because it's like that weird weather where it's like you feel like you need a jumper. Who's taking you guys? Tell me everything. What's happening? We are going with Bear by Vogue. Oh my god, I'm so excited. I've never even heard of this hotel. I think it must be new. It smells good. It smells quite delicious. It's a bit creaky, like old and creaky. Yeah, which does freak me out a little bit. I feel like in the 80s they just had a revamp. Yeah. Yeah, it definitely had a revamp. They're very like... But there's some bits that they've left, like those bathroom tiles can't be new. Someone did not... Someone didn't blow the budget on that. They wanted to spend more on the toilet, the Japanese toilet, than they did on it. I would prefer nice tiles than a toilet seat that lifts itself for me. Guys, I'm not really civilised. There's too many buttons, and they don't see what they do. That's what bothers me. And I don't need something to wash my hoo-ha. I can do that myself. Yes. I'm not civilised enough for this. I just... Let me tell you, after a few drinks... Fantastic. That is the funniest, funnest thing we will ever do. My guys will be testing it out. I don't think we have a full-length mirror for me to show you. I've got these shoes on. So these are the black version of the pink shoes that I wore to Ariana Grande. I love them so much. They're actually very comfortable. And honestly, they get so many compliments as well. So loving those. And I feel like they just work really well with the, like, skater style dress. It's very kind of like girly. They're a very girly shoe. And then I've got my YSL clutch, which actually has a... I don't know what you call it. Oh, a ticket. That's the word. Oh my God. I'm going to use some dry shampoo this morning because all that hairspray from the other night has really just made my hair go a bit... It's a bit yucky. So yeah, I'm trying to save it because I have to take some pics today. I'm going into the shop, the nail shop. I don't ever know whether to call it like salon. Sounds so weird. Like, do the salon. I don't like them. I don't like saying it in my accent. Does anyone else have that where? Saying things in a British accent just sounds wrong. Sorry, am I offending you? The dog's like, this is too much dry shampoo for me. But yeah, I'm going into the studio, the shop. I don't know, to take some pics today. I'm going to properly announce my residency on Instagram. Go in there and just kind of like have everyone familiarize themselves with the shop. I feel like that's one of the barriers for me is if you don't know where someone works, like you sometimes come across amazing nail techs and then you don't know where they work or if you're going to their house or like what the vibe is. Like people want to know the vibe. On that note, full transparency. This is a residency that is in the center of Brighton. So I'm going to be really real with you here. My rent for the seat alone, I don't actually think I'm going to make any money on this residency. And some people might be like, why on earth are you doing this? Like in the last video, so many people were like, congrats on your new business. And I'm like, if only you knew, I feel like this is at this point, this is a bad business model. Just while I am getting into the swing of doing this properly again, like I've always done like the odd private client here and there, apart from obviously when I was very postpartum with Delilah. But on a more regular basis, like to get back into the swing of things and just get used to being in that environment. Because like I said, in my last video, my dream would be to have my own place. And that is a place that I have my eye on. And it, for reference, is per week, the cost of two of my days in the studio. So basically I could have my own place completely mine full time. Whereas with this residency, if I have two people in a day, depending on the service, I've either just scraped by or not made any money or made about five pounds, but then I'm not even including tax. So if I have two £40, for example, services booked, I'm actually down £10 and that's not even including my travel into Brighton. So just to be really real with you here, because I think we often look at nail prices and we're like, oh, £35 for that. And they're just, they're just getting £35 every time I do it. To cover my travel and my rent and tax, I need to probably be clearing £100 a day in services. That's just to break even. And we're not even getting started on the over £1,000 that I have spent on the kit, just to be really real here. But the service does include lovely, lovely products. You have the choice of an LED red light treatment for your hands at the end. I know I do spend a lot of time on the prep and the finish, and I do want to account for that. That's not something I necessarily want to lose. Sorry, my skin's just... This needs a button. I'm just going to put it out there. It needs a button because it's just constantly falling open. I don't want to compromise my quality of service for the sake of profit. So there is also that. A lot of thought has gone into the price list. So I just want to be really real with that in advance. But I chose to have a Brighton salon because number one, it's really easy for a lot, not a lot, not everyone, but a lot of people to get to, like, especially on lunch breaks, you're more likely to get in-the-day bookings. It's also very close to the train station if people want to come down from London or literally come from anywhere. Very, very accessible. It's also a beautiful studio, just in terms of, like, a lovely, lovely experience. Like, I love it so much. It's so beautiful. Beth, who runs BW Collective, she has done the most phenomenal job. And if you're, like, travelling, you can kind of, like, make a day of it and, like, see Brighton. So there's also that as well. Also, Beth is just so good. So I am just hoping to learn a lot from her. I'm really not going into this being, like, I know everything. There's nothing left for me to learn. Like, I feel like there's so much to learn from her and I'm really excited to just be in that space. I actually went and had my nails done by her in a vlog a few months back. May time? And I took you guys with me. So you have actually seen a sneak peek of the shop. And that was actually when we got talking about this. And I basically was saying, like, I would love to come back to nails at some point. I'm just obviously, like, Delilah and, like, making sure she is, like, my priority. At that point in time, like, she was still a lot younger, whereas now it's so, so different. When I was having my nails done by her, she mentioned that there was space for me. And at the time, I was like, oh, I'm not sure. I'm just not sure I'm ready to, like, take the leap. And it just kind of very recently all just, like, clicked into place. And here we are. So we are getting ready this morning. We're going to go to the gym. I'm going to go into the shop. Also, oh my god, I need to show you. Damage has been done. Oh my god, where do I even, where do I start? This is actually three bags. Originally, I had to condense down on the train because it was too much. Touch Land has touched down in Space NK. Wild Watermelon. I think that, I think it's my favourite. Beach Cocoa. These are basically all hand sanitizers in a really nice, sleek, travel-friendly little package, but also really beautifully scented as well. This is, like, a glow mist. This, I think, is going to be so fun when I do people's nails. I actually have the lavender one in my kit right now. I used it on my mum yesterday. Revitalizing hand sanitizer that gives the skin a really beautiful glow. I think that's going to be so nice. Love doing a little bit of hand sunny to start, just to make sure we're all suitably sanitized. Vanilla Blossom. Yum. And then Vanilla Velvet. This is a hydrating body and hair fragrance mist. Also got a little, it's like a travel case, and it goes on your, like, key ring. So cool. What else did I get? I'm going to show you, I'm just going to show you, like, some of my highlights, because there is so much stuff. Living Proof Dry Shampoo, because this stuff is, that's the best luxury dry shampoo. Having it in a mini is so nice, because it's just always in your bag. Oh my god, I got the Ilia Skin Tint. Super Serum Skin Tint SPF 30. I'm really excited to try this. I feel like it's going to be so gorgeous, and my foundation is just running out. So going to give this a go. It's so beautiful. I put a bit on the back of my hand. It's so beautiful. Summer Fridays. These are the, like, lip blurry things. Flushed Lip Stain. This is the shade Almond. Yeah, Almond. Augustina's Beda Rich Eye Cream, and then the Rich Cream. I have heard incredible things about this, and whenever I've gone into space, in case it's not been installed, but it was installed. I got some more scrunchies, because Victoria has slowly taken all of her scrunchies back. So finally, it's been three years, but I have my own. And then I got these cleansers from Preepful. These are meant to be incredible. I had them in my basket, and then at the till, all the staff were like, the best cleansers. And I've never heard people rave about cleansers before, so I am very excited. So we've got the Non-Drying Glycerin Cleanser for face and body. And then the pre-cleansing, pre-cleanse cleansing oil. I get asked about this all the time. Every time you guys see this in a video, this gets so many questions. It's the Sam McKnight Texture Spray. And this actually really helps it hold a curl. There's literally nothing else that's helped. Hairspray, mousses, nothing. This, yes. And it's the best smell, and the best, best colour packaging. Also have, I have new makeup bags. They have a new colourway, and this Dusky Blue was obviously just a bit of me. Beautiful. So we've got the bigger one for all my things. I think I'm going to put my skincare in this. And then the smaller one. I already have an orange one in my bag, but I might have to swap out for the Dusky Blue, because she's so beautiful. Waiting for them to bring out the mini that clips onto your bag in this Dusky Blue colour. And I got a new fragrance. I rode it. Black Saffron. There's also a new one called Future, Future Memories? Future Moments? I can't remember. Which smell incredible. Very like, vanilla-y, really stunning. This one also just really spoke to me. It's very, I don't know, quite deep. They've changed the lids on these now. It's all textured, and like a cracked. It's just stunning. Actually smells a lot like Cairo by Peneligan's, but not as strong. Like not as punchy. Final thing, like we've just basically gone through everything. But I don't know if you guys will have seen. My favourite lip balm is the Laneige Vanilla Lip Mask. I saw this. It's the Hot Cocoa. Cocoa? Wow. I really went to hold it up to you so you could smell it. Wow. Phenomenal. Smells like hot chocolate. Incredible. Oh, it's been some time since I've just like, wandered a Space NK freely. And whenever I've got Delilah with me, I'm like, oh we could go get like a matcha and a wander around Space NK. And then I just think, a 15-month-old is not going to enjoy that. Like just take her to soft places. So to soft play we go. We are ready to go. Just doing my fragrance of the day, which might seem counterproductive. But I just feel like when I'm in the gym and I smell, someone smell nice. Like not too much, not too strong. But just like, you know, you pass people, you get a waft. It's nice. It's better than sweat. So this is my fragrance of the day. And this is a really nice soft one. Spray a decent amount on. And it's not like too much, you know. I actually like to put a little bit on the back of my neck. I find that just like, I get wafts of it throughout the day. And it's so nice. So yeah, that's my fragrance of the day. Also put on some mascara because I remembered I was taking pics this afternoon. And I need to look alive. I'm actually so excited. Next Thursday, I actually have, I basically booked for, I think I could fit in one more client and booked for my first day. And I'm a bit nervous. Unless anyone cancels, which is, you just never know. It's hard to tell when you have new people, whether people are going to be flaky or not. But I know my last appointment of the day is my best friend. So not going to be flaky. I'm on my way to the shop. I'm nervous. I can't lie. I feel like I'm going to bomb. And do you know what? It's not even because I have to go in and do nails or anything. It's because I have to go and take pics and do my very introverted job in front of people. Here we go. Okay. All right. Okay. Gals, this is the outside of the shop. She's so cute. Little tucked away hidden gem down this street. And do you know what? It's actually so close to one of my favourite places to get matcha. So I'm going to take you there now. What a great excuse. So it's off of this street in Brighton. If any of you come here a lot, you will know it. It's literally like the station is up here and the road runs underneath it. So literally just come out of the station and walk down. And then my favourite matcha place is actually this little green shop there. It's so good. Really beautiful like strawberry cold foam. And it's actually like just so nice, like an actually sweet versus like there's this other new place that's opened up around here. And they like, it's just, it tastes like nothing. Cute. Oh my God. Wow. The danger of this matcha spot is it's actually in a vintage store. Oh, I love. Wow. I love it. I'm good. How are you? Yeah, good. Thank you. What can I get for you? Can I get a strawberry and rose cloud ice matcha? Ice matcha, please. Aww, thank you so much. It's gorgeous. It's so good. Now I need to get home. We have a lot of work to do in the room of doom. I don't, I don't, I still have no other name for it. My closet. Believe it or not, it is actually the same day. I have changed my outfit as soon as I walked through the door because I was roasting in that cardigan. The weather at the moment is still summer. It just doesn't look like summer. It's very confusing for me. You would think that I haven't lived the 30 something years that I have lived and like learnt by now. Apparently not. So yeah, I changed into something equally over-simulating. These trousers from Topshop are so nice. Like real, like big balloon leg, barrel leg, comfy trousers, like stretchy waistband. Gorgeous. But they make a rustling sound and I find it very over-stimulating. So maybe I'll change again before the day is out. I mean, I will, because I will at some point retire to my pyjamas. I know, I can't wait. Um, anyway, I picked up loads of stuff because I am making my favourite dinner tonight, which is a gnocchi carbonara pasta bake. Or no, gnocchi carbonara bake. It's my favourite dinner and it's also Delilah's favourite dinner. And so like, how am I to refuse both of us this dinner when Ryan is actually out tonight doing pizza? So the girlies are having their favourite. I say this like you don't have it every Friday night, but I was really in the mood to not cook tonight and I could have then done a little like, whatever we've got in the fridge for Delilah and then ordered myself some Mexican takeout. But I was like, no, no, I will. I will make the gnocchi carbonara pasta bake. Why do I keep saying pasta bake? It's because the words pasta and bake just go together in my head. I also picked up these. These are, this is my current hyperfixation drink. I almost don't want to tell you about them. But also I risk, if I don't tell you guys about things, then it's just me that buys. Then they just end up getting discontinued. So they are so worth the hype. Like there's always just like a shelf in my fridge at the moment that has these on and I'm trying not to have one every day, but I have one nearly every day. Ignore the rest of my fridge, but that's my dash shelf. And it's just, I think this is what people feel like about Diet Coke. Okay, we have good news and bad news. The good news is I can vlog with you up until the last dying second. The bad news is that, you see the trousers? You hear them? The bad news is that my video actually hasn't been edited at all yet. So I will be doing that this evening. Also, please ignore all the, yeah. I mean, at least the boxes are ready to go, you know? You know? It's all fine. Anyway, it's actually not all fine. Look at the state in here. Again, at least the clothes are all where they should be. They're not scattered around the house, but there's so many of them. There's so many of them. Like, they're people. No, it's just clothes. I really need to strip the summer stuff out. Like, I think I should just do it all in one go. I mean, do I have the time to be doing it all in one go? No. I fear I should just crack on, you know? And even if I have to do it in three different stints, like, we just need to start. Also, whilst I tidy this place up, the internet is bullying me. And I very rarely say that because it sounds so juvenile. But I quite frankly, quite frankly, I am sick to death of being told how un-chic I am. And I say that as I was literally touching a sports t-shirt, a pink sports t-shirt. But I am quite obviously the least chic person on earth. The connotations of the word chic, it's a word that has come from the fashion world. And the fashion world has basically owned for a long time. And they have their own biases as to how they would all like us to look and the bodies that they prefer. And I've said it before that chic is very heavily associated with a very slim, tall, white woman, often blonde. And that is not me. So I do quite like to rebel against ever just being chic at all because quite frankly, I don't care for it. However, in the spirit of feedback and constructive criticism, sometimes I do fear that whilst I feel like I am being peer pressured into being chic, that the internet may be right. And maybe we could do with finding some harmony between me being a bit more chic, but also still having fun. Because I sometimes find chic fashion and like clean girl, like the reason we have a clean girl rebellion going on right now is because it became so boring. And that's so much personality. And no one wants that. Well, some people do. Some people are just boring. But like, that's not, I don't want that. I still want my style to feel fun or I don't know, a little bit. I want to feel something when I put on an outfit, you know, like when you look at Carrie from Sex and the City, you just feel something about her outfit. And I love that. Being said, have I ever worn this yellow top? No, it's from Mexico. I'm going to experiment this autumn with being, trying, attempting to look a bit more chic. And I'm actually going to put it to the test as to whether it is possible. Because I've said this before, sometimes I feel like it's me. It's I'm in my bones. I'm not chic. And sometimes I feel like I put things on and it could be something that like Vic would wear and look so chic. And I could put the exact same thing on. Like that Victoria's Secret outfit, actually, that she wore, the body and the skirt. And I have also bought it. I still haven't put the top and the skirt together. I've worn the skirt but not the top. I feel like if I put that on, I would tacky that right up immediately just by wearing it. Just my presence in that garment, I would tacky it up. And maybe that's just me being really mean to myself. But I do believe that that is the situation that we have here. Like, I don't know if this is chic, but I feel like if Briony Deary wore it, it would be so chic. Like, I don't know. I feel like it's just me sometimes. And then it's just like our preconceptions of the word chic, our expectations of it, and like the internal biases we hold. And then seeing me in it and it doesn't meet the expectations. Do you know what I'm saying? So, we're gonna have a little social experiment to see if it is even possible for me to be chic this autumn. I'm gonna go on a journey of side press because it has to be chic without being boring. Like, I need to find my own way of wearing something. Like, this. You remember when I got this and I still haven't worn it because it's obviously been like a bajillion degrees. But this, this top with the little belt, I think very chic, but not boring. Not boring. In my opinion. I'm just not gonna wear that. Just being really honest with myself, I'm not gonna wear that. This is still hell on earth up here, but we are getting somewhere. It looks slightly better here, maybe. I still need to sort my shoes. So much going on here. This is a job for another day. Over here looks so so. Anyway, we now have 30 minutes to make a carbonara, so let's go. Fact is, he's not, he's making pizza for other families, so we really can't, we can't be mad about this pre-made situation. It is so late. I have finally, finally finished washing up all of the stuff from my broken dishwasher. I'm gonna give me, this looks so slick. It looks so slick. I'm gonna give me a cleanse and let's go. That was so nice. My skin actually doesn't even feel like it's been washed, but in a good way, like it feels so hydrated. This cleansing oil was nice, but I feel like it took a couple of going, but the first time it just moved my mascara down here, which is rare. I feel like I haven't had a cleanse to do that in ages, but I feel like a skin cleanse, that's really nice. But this on my actual skin, it feels clean, but it feels so bouncy. Really hard to explain, very, very nice. Would definitely repurchase this. The cleansing oil, I'm not, I feel like there are some oils, but this is very nice. Oh my goodness. Good morning, world. I saw, you know, you can look at the little sender info and I saw who this is from and I had to turn on the camera. Oh my God. Prepare to be sick of me in this. This is the best thing I'm going to wear this autumn. You heard it here first. I need to stop waving the scissors around because this is dangerous. Also, if anyone gets the sight of my shoulder that's hidden behind this box right now, I've just been hacking away at mine. I've got some random spots that are only on one shoulder and I've just been going to town on them. Do excuse me. It looks horrendous. Anyway. Oh my God. I told Amelia Liana that it's a sexual dust bag. This is courtesy of Miss Amelia Liana. She has clad on the most beautiful suede bomber jacket. And when I saw this on her, she was ordered to take it off immediately and I did nearly run home with it. I was going to leave my jacket and my suitcase and all of my space in K-Bags in the streets just so I could rob her of this. But here we are. I have my own. This is like the most buttery, soft suede I have ever felt in my life. My Zara bomber jackets could never. This is the wrong outfit to be wearing. Oh my gosh. No, sorry.
