A quiet walk around the grounds and gardens of medieval Stoneacre Wealden Hall House in Kent, as summer slowly starts to give way to autumn.

After an exceptionally hot and dry summer, there are just the first signs of the season changing. Mushrooms appearing, apples ripening, roses still flowering, the first leaves beginning to fall and cyclamen flowering in the garden.

I take a gentle walk along the cobbled and gravel paths, through the gardens, orchard and around the old medieval house, taking in the little details as autumn begins to appear.

As always, there is no talking and no music, just the natural sounds of the gardens and countryside. Birdsong, a gentle breeze through the trees, sheep in the distance and footsteps on the cobbles and gravel.

A peaceful, slow walk and a chance to enjoy Stoneacre at this lovely time of year.
