Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov's illness appears to be progressing. His condition has recently deteriorated sharply. This was reported by the influential Russian resource VChK-OGPU, which is linked to the Russian special services. 49-year-old Kadyrov has rarely appeared in public lately. He has deteriorated so much that his security guards are forced to support him by the arms when he walks. "He's having extreme difficulty not only moving, but even getting through the day. Doctors had to perform a real feat to ensure he could participate in the events marking Akhmat Kadyrov's anniversary. Everyone who was present witnessed it. He walks arm in arm with someone, and only makes brief, independent walks for the cameras. Even oral presentations are difficult," the resource reported. Kadyrov has stopped appearing in Moscow altogether. The Kremlin is sending officials there to assess the republic's leader's condition. "Federal officials are being sent to Chechnya one after another to demonstrate to the population their activity and involvement in the processes before the elections. And at the same time, to let them see the real situation. And their stories are very alarming," the Cheka-OGPU reported. He clarified that Kadyrov's condition had recently improved. However, this improvement proved short-lived. His condition is deteriorating again. Kadyrov himself categorically denies having an incurable disease. Sources, however, report several diagnoses—some suggesting kidney failure, pancreatic necrosis, and even cancer.
Media previously reported that Kadyrov has almost completely stopped attending and has lost influence in the Kremlin. Kadyrov has stopped leaving the Chechen capital. The rare times he appears in public only fuel rumors of his grave condition. Chechnya's longtime leader can barely stand and is forced to rely on his confidants and security guards. According to the publication, Kadyrov has stopped being invited to Moscow. Tellingly, he was not invited to the ruling United Russia party congress in the Russian capital. "The Kremlin dictator has started calling the Chechen leader simply 'Ramzan'—without his patronymic. He can no longer even call Vaino and Kiriyenko directly. And he's found himself dependent on a friend of the Presidential Administration, his former enemy, billionaire Suleiman Kerimov," writes We Can Explain. Apparently, Kadyrov has lost his status as "head of the Caucasus." He has also begun distributing his inheritance. Specifically, he transferred his Airbus A319 to his sons Adam and Eli. This aircraft flies frequently to Moscow and Saudi Arabia. For the first time, Kadyrov is not running in the federal elections. His closest associates are running in his place. Kadyrov clearly sees his youngest son, Adam, as his successor. The head of Chechnya is ignoring the Kremlin's disapproval of this candidacy, promoting his 18-year-old son to the post of head of the republic. Some influential Chechen security officials have begun hanging portraits of Adam in their offices next to those of Kadyrov Sr. and Putin.
