It's like we've fallen out. It's fine because it looks better like that. Okay, ready? Yeah.
Ah, so welcome to a very warm and sunny St Ives. So we're here in this beautiful town in Cambridgeshire.
We've been here before and we had pretty good success. So will we have the same success
today? Hopefully. Lots of charity shops. It's also the home of the world's largest and longest
guided busway. Really? Yeah, plus heads to Cambridge, plus the former home of Sir Clive
Sinclair. Has something to do with computers? The Sinclair ZX Spectrum and also the Sinclair C5,
little bike vehicle thing that never really took off. So he was apparently a St Ives
resident. So lots of great history. Hopefully lots of great thrifting. Let's hope so. So let's
hit the thrift stores and see what we can find today. What a jolly shop. It looks so beautiful.
It's all colourful and it's St Ives in bloom. Absolutely, it's beautiful. Love the kites and
everything. So we're going to head into the YMCA and see what they've got. See if we can
fill up the fines bag. Closed for lunch back at 2.30. Oh, we'll come back at 2.30. So let's head
this way. There's another one over there. Okay, so that one's closed for lunch. So let's head into
the British Heart Foundation and see what they've got. So they're quite nice. We've got four of
those for four pounds. I think that's quite a nice little pickup. We'll check them all over obviously.
But I think they could be fosters. There's nothing underneath. But I like the shape of the handles.
Yeah, it's nice, isn't it? Like a burnt sugar kind of colour. But yeah, we see a lot of this design.
But I've not seen mugs before, I don't think. So I think for a pound each. Sounds good. Bargain.
Set of four, no chips. This doesn't seem possible. That's cute as well. This little
Simididi. A little Mekin sunflower jug. Just one. Oh, it's on both sides. It was a different
sunflower on the other side. That's sweet. How much is that? Three pounds. That's been pricey
almost. I don't think so. We'll grab the mugs. Makes me think of cups of tea and coffee and
it's too hot to think of that. So we'll start with the more conservative piece. It looks very
80s to me, but I think probably it's more like late 90s, early 2000s with the French connection,
UK. Lovely colour. The strings are all in good condition. Feels like it's been washed a million
times. But what about that? This is where it's at. That's fantastic, isn't it? I mean, you perhaps
have to wear something underneath. I don't know. Depends where you are. Would you in Brighton? No.
Well, there's those little hearts on the star. Yeah, absolutely. We'd have to go with circles
for this. It's got lovely little beaded buttons. Alison. It's just made in China, so maybe it's
not old. I don't think it's just funky. All the buttons are there. How much is it? £5.50. So I
think I'd go for that. Not that. But we could go for both. This one is £5.50. Yeah. I think this
is more interesting. Yeah, let's do that. This is also size six. We can't buy any more size six.
There's some great little pickups in there. A little bit of a crisis with the e-receipt
situation that you might remember from a previous video. We forgot about the e-receipt,
which gave us 10% off. This time we didn't forget, but they couldn't get it to work.
So we've got a paper receipt. Did you get the 10% anyway? Maybe we've got both,
paper and email. We're not sure. So we won't worry too much. Right, we'll head on down this
lovely market square. It's got a few charity shops dotted around, so we'll continue. Might
need to put my sunnies on, actually. It's beautiful this afternoon. It's hot. Right,
let's get going. So look, Barnardo's has got matching wheelie bins. They're well spotted.
On brand. Right, should we get in? Yeah. Do you think it's cooler in here?
Marginally. No.
It's quite a cool picture frame with its original WH Smith
back card, as it were. That's never been used, has it? I think. No. Three pounds, that's quite nice.
Really hold on to that. Yeah, that might be worth a pickup. I was just looking at the rest of the
pictures. These are quite sweet. Very period, I would say. These lovely set of six, which is
also good, because sometimes you only see a couple or one. So to get six and four pounds,
I don't know what make they are, but they all seem in good condition. A little bit of dust.
So they might be worth a pickup. I don't know whether they're special enough or not, really.
You can see the original price on this one. I can't see what it says though. Is it seven and
a half pence or something? Let's have a look. Seven and a half pence. Yeah. So they've obviously
never been used, or certainly not that one anyway. Exactly. This little vase is cute.
Oh, is it chipped? It's a shame. That is a shame. So there we go. One little pickup. But like we
said the other day, if you just get one or two things in each shop, you pretty soon have a full
bag. So that lovely little vintage frame, just a nice little pickup piece in the booth. So let's
head to the next one. Okay. So isn't it pretty here? So many lovely hanging baskets. We've got
the river down here. Lovely independent shops. A lovely place to wander around. But we're heading,
of course, for Oxfam. So we've found this big, big set. We've got casseroles, platters, plates,
terrines, dishes, lovely jugs. This is actually a Wedgwood. Pennine, I think. I'm not sure. It's
so old. It's difficult to read that. See if we've got a better one somewhere. I think this might be
more modern, made to look old, if you see what I mean. But I'm not sure about that. You guys might
know. So it's all priced individually. So like $2.99 for the sugar bowls, or the little cereal
bowls, maybe $4.99 each for those. Plate, terrine, $11.99. So a mixture of prices. It's not flying
off the shelf, that is for sure. Maybe even a strip room for us, I would say. We're not really
into the brown as much now, are we Terry? Probably not. As he goes for a brown dish. So these are
Moira. They're quite nice if you're making little meals to pop in the freezer, aren't they? So
there's only three of those, half price, $3.99. Because they're too brown. They might be too
brown. Let's keep looking. Oh, you're in the scarves. You find me amongst the scarves. Now
these all appear to be made in Japan. So you've got this lovely one with the lilies and things,
very kind of sheer, that one. So they're all $2.99. It's lovely with the yellow border. And
then you've got the little made in Japan label. So this one as well is also made in Japan.
So there's unfortunately a little bit of damage on that one. Oh, that's a shame.
Probably got caught on this clothes rack, I wouldn't wonder. So this one is very pretty,
but I think, because I had a little look at these before I showed them to you, I think there was
also some damage on this. I think because they're such fine, they're not silk, but they've got that
kind of, yes, there's a slight, that's obviously caught on something. So we'll pop that one back.
This one could also, they're all the same size and shape, aren't they? Let's find the label.
Must have been, this one is foreign, possibly from Japan. Again, it must be all from the same
person who used to love wearing this shape of scarf as a little neckerchief. $2.99 again. So
I wondered if there's any mileage in those as a little, that's lovely with the orange.
And that one with the florals, so pretty. I think you could even use them for other things
nowadays. I mean, you'd put it on the table. Yeah. Headscarf, necktie, and yeah, just very
period looking. So I think we'll grab those two for sure. Oh, that's good. So just a couple of
little scarves in there, but rather nice ones. So we'll continue. It's going quite well so far in
St. Ives. And I've just remembered, we've got that kind of open courtyard, kind of,
I don't know how you describe it, full of independent little stores. Yeah. So that
might be open and it's just around the corner. So we'll do a few more charity shops first,
then we'll head there. Okay. Let's see if we're as lucky in the East Anglian Children's Hospice.
Come on, H. Have you got some bricker? Maybe, maybe not. That's a bit more modern than I
wanted it to be, I think. Let's have a little look in there. That's quite sweet. A little floral
60s little dish, 250. That one just made in England. So that's quite a possibility. We'll
leave it there for a sec. Anything low down. It's quite pretty. It's obviously just a little
gifty piece, but you wonder actually if that could be a made in Japan type piece. Let's have a little
look. Made in Hong Kong. Can you get that? Sorry, I read it and then forgot you needed to also have
a look at it. I'm just wondering if it's, oh, okay. Well, so that's come off, but I think you
have in theory, well, maybe, maybe it's not really drawers. I think they just pop in. Look, it's not
actually, ah, there we go. It's not the finest quality item. It's like the equivalent of a pound
shop item, I think, but probably bought very cheaply at the time, but looks very expensive
and lovely, doesn't it? So maybe we'll leave it for now. Oh, there's a lovely breeze just
whooshed through this. Oh, that's nice. It's rather nice. This blue glass vase. I don't know,
it's difficult. I don't know if that's got much age to it or not really. It looks like some of
them. It almost looks like a lampshade as well. Like a bluebell. That's three pounds.
Anything in the textiles? Let's have a look. It looks all very freshly laundered and neat.
That could be vintage. Summer throw, four pounds. And we'll have a look at that in a sec.
We've done quite well with textiles lately, haven't we? We have, and we've found some really
nice pieces, actually. We found 80s designs, 60s stuff. Yeah, so let's have a look at this one. I
wonder if this could be. It could be vintage. It might just be a nice modern one. Any tags?
Yeah, that's all style. I'm not sure I like this style particularly.
Controversial, Terry. Well, as we've gone to the trouble of getting it out, let's have a
proper look at it. Not discounted, just like that. It's big. I'll have to step back.
It's rather nice. Well, it is nice, actually. Now you've seen it. You could imagine that on the
beach. I'm coming in to just get a close-up of that. Hold that door. The fringing and the
tasseling is beautiful. Might just be a modern one, but it's nice. It's a lovely size, isn't it,
as well? Yeah, so that's good for four. Let me have a look at it. Yeah, I think it's probably
just modern, but I'm looking at this weave here with the orange, and to me, it just looks a bit
more quality, and in the weave here with the stitching and stuff, it kind of just looks
more expensive. I think it's worth a go. Well, there we go. That's decisive for you.
See, he doesn't listen to what I say at all. You can't go wrong for four pounds, can you,
even if you wrap yourself up in it on a summer night when you have a nice little cosy night
with the band door open and you're just a bit chilly. You could just wrap yourself up in that,
couldn't you? Yeah. Decision made. It's coming with us. I've just found this by the artist
Molly Brett. You've got the little signature here, and I seem to remember that my grandma's,
when I was a little boy, she used to have books illustrated by Molly Brett, like fairy tales,
and you can tell by this image it's like Woodland Glade. There's so much going on. Yeah, it's
fascinating. It'd be great in a nursery. So, I think it probably has got age to it. The string
is attached with really lovely, almost like hand-forged nails, but proper old nails as well,
and we see quite a bit of this. Yeah, that's really nice. How much is that?
That's a very good question. Oh, four pounds. That seems to be the lucky number in here.
I think that's really lovely for that. Pretty, isn't it? And not damaged in any way. Beautiful
condition. Oh, it takes me right back. Right, we'll grab that too. So, Terry, this could be my
favourite. This is also made in Japan. It's a different shop, but also made in Japan. 100%
acrylic. There's a little label there. It's really lovely. I mean, they're all the same size,
so it must have been a thing. They must be called, not a pocket square, obviously, because
that's much smaller, but maybe there's an equivalent name for this. You guys might know.
It's got a nice little fringe around the edge, which seems pretty much in good condition.
There's a bit of a press, but the colours are amazing, aren't they? How much was that one?
That one is $3.25. Yeah, that's definitely a taker, isn't it? It's lovely. It's beautiful.
You could have a little neckerchief with this one, with your little jumpsuit. I'll try it.
Yeah. So, we said we're quite glad we came out this afternoon. Lots of nice pickups.
That lovely picture. Beautiful, isn't it? Right, there's one next door. So,
here we come. I wonder what you might be looking for. Oh, hang on. Wrecking the joint. Well,
I walked in the door and I said, I'm looking for Japanese scarves, obviously, now.
There's a real mixture of designs. Equestrian, got fruit. I'm just looking for that all-important
Japanese label, which I now think is a must, obviously. The ones we bought are such cool
designs. These are all a bit bigger and that could be. It's not even on the hook, is it? Let's
have a look. Well, it looks like the same size. That would be ridiculous if it was the third.
I don't think that one's got a tag on, has it? But it's nice. Can't see one. Maybe a bit brown.
Yeah, it's back to the browns. But it could possibly be one in disguise. So, we'll keep
looking. Keep looking, Tal. How about this? Three pounds. Let's get it off the hanger.
Feels like a kind of a cosy throw. I don't know whether it's... Nice colours. It feels like it's
got a bit of age to it. No labels, but it feels like it could well be a vintage piece. And I love
the way the thread kind of disperses into different colours as you go. Yeah, it's quite
big as well. Nicely finished. It's got more interest on your side, actually. Oh, has it?
It's only one colour, that side. There you go. Oh, that's it. That's much better. Yeah, that's
really nice. How much is that? Three. Oh, yeah. So, that's nice. I think that's... And also,
that's good. So, right. We've got plenty of throws to wrap ourselves up in.
Right, I'll hold on to that. I've developed a tickle. I think it's all these textiles we're
buying. All the fibres. It's all the synthetic fibres. We only buy the finest quality synthetic
fibres. Right, let's head to the bottom of the marketplace here. We've got three to do. YMCA,
I think Wood Green, and also another one. And also, if we're there in time, the open market.
So, let's get going. I forgot about this one. Age UK. So, we're looking at this one.
So, look at that. Oh, wow. That is so 1980s, isn't it? And it's huge. It's amazing.
So, that one is five pounds. 100% cotton. Made in Italy. Wow. I'm just going to check it over
so you can look at it. It has, that's true. Yeah, that looks good to me. And that's beautiful.
How many scarves could I buy in a day? St Ives is the town of scarves. Yeah. Kind of goes with my
outfit. It does. So, there we go. The bag's getting heavy now. Even though it's only full
of textiles, it's getting quite heavy. Well, there's a couple of heavier bits. I mean, look,
aren't they just amazing? The colours. Yeah, incredible. So, I feel like I could keep that
for myself and model it for you all. You'll definitely have to model it. Right, this way.
There's more to see. Okay, so take two for YMCA. Let's see what they got. Wow, that's had a life.
What have we got? Bavaria, Alsace, Switzerland, Poland, Italy, Bulgaria, and Belgium. It's
obviously a biscuit too, I suppose. We'll never know. It's very, very old, isn't it? Wow, look at
that. That's had probably buttons and needles and pins and in for generations. A bit too rough for
us to buy, I think. So, coming with awesome, but no awesome stock for us today. Lots of nice things,
but nothing quite right for us. So, we're going to head over here. The last two charity shops
here in St Ives before we head to the open market. So, Terry said this will make a lovely
shot of Wood Green charity shop and it's just a little too low for me. You're in the greenery.
In the greenery. So, let's head in and see what they've got. I think we'll just stay in here all
afternoon. Oh, wow. That's amazing. It's fully air conned. Right, let's just very slowly walk around.
Oh, I had a moment there. I thought Luminar, gorgeous smoky glasses. It's actually quite
dark in this corner. I thought all the jug to match, but it's not. This is much heavier,
a different thing. So, the glasses are nice, but it's a shame there's only two of each. Two pounds,
three pounds, maybe for all four. Perhaps they're ditty, like these little baby ones.
So, they're nice. Just not enough of them, I don't think. So, look at this lovely paisley tie in the
pink. So, we picked up a similar one in Spain, which is in the booth at the moment. This particular
one is vintage top man. Oh, that's good. 100% polyester. How cool is that? So, they're all two
pounds. So, there's also a fun kind of Christmassy one. What were the baubles? That was obviously
maybe 90s. I don't know. You can imagine Noel Evans wearing that, couldn't you? Also, Saint
Michael, things like that. Yeah, I think the one you've got there is particularly nice. This is not
easy to get off the stand. So, I'll do it like this for now. That's nice. Bit 90s again. Probably
wonder if this is a top man one. It's not, but it's a nice one. Made in Italy. The tie rack,
100% polyester. That's nice too, I think. What's your opinion? Well, again, because we don't know
how well they're doing. I think maybe just a super cool one. Super cool. They've only been in the
booth for about five minutes. I know. It might be interesting to know. We don't want hundreds of
them. We'll have to start wearing ties, won't we? All right, we'll get that one. It's cool.
Do we have to leave this shop? So, they just moved here about four or five weeks ago,
apparently, from a little shop on the corner. It's so lovely in here. It's an amazing building
and full of great stock and air conditioning, which in the summertime is perfect, isn't it?
But we've got to leave. Okay, I'm going. So, here we are at the courtyard. That's what it's called.
I couldn't remember. Such a cool space with lots of little independent traders. So, let's get in.
So, I think each one of these little booths is an independent trader. Yeah, I think so. So,
this one obviously has got lovely, some really cool vintage clothes and scarves and lots of
jewellery and accessories. Lovely pottery. Oh, that was rather nice. That's Guernsey pottery.
The tag is right over the design, which is a shame, but just kind of nice. Good price, £8.
That proves our thing. That would be the same price sometimes in some charity shops like
this. This is perhaps Jenny, pod 25. So, nice selection, Jenny, if you're watching.
Some little candlesticks for £3. Yeah, very nice too. So, you're right. You can easily
thrift in inverted commas in an antique. This is kind of like an antique-y emporium, isn't it,
really? So, we'll keep wandering around and see what we can find. Wow, that's so cool.
£4. So, whether it's, maybe isn't very old, it might be relatively modern with the recycle,
but it's got that real retro look for £4. I mean, that's quite a talking point. It looks so cool.
With all your different nibbles. Yeah. I might have to pick that one up. I thought you were
going to hold on to that. Yeah, I'll hold on to it. You know, that's a good sign, everybody.
Nice little wooden bowl. So, that one is £10 from the 1970s. And whether that was even handmade,
I don't know, with the beads and the little... You're all right there. You've got a little
floral eye. It's like a wheel and a beaded... I mean, it just looks like something you might
have even had scampi in a basket in. I don't know. That's what it's saying to me.
Watch my bag, Tal. It's full of goodies. I'm watching it. Oh, that's nice.
Bagley Mid-Century Bark Effect Bars, 1970s. £4. How much? Let me have a proper look at it so I
can see. Wow. If it's here, maybe £18, £20. £11. £11. Wow. That's so cool. I'm just checking
it's not got any chips. I don't think it has. I mean, you can't keep keeping this stuff.
They keep getting into hoarder mode. That's just beautiful. All right. Well,
they're both out here. What are they doing? They might do a little deal. I don't know.
But a couple of good finds. Oh, a little Foster's Pussy. Oh, a little British cat.
How cute. So, that's eight. Honeycomb cat. It's quite sweet. Look at the eyes.
I don't think there's room for two. That was a bad move. You just have the whole thing shaking.
You just have to shuffle around a bit. So, I was just looking at this lovely glass here.
Italian by the look of it. It's £22. Italian red bars, mid-20th century. It's a little dusty.
Probably these outside places it kind of gets dusty. But it's lovely, isn't it? It's maybe a
bit too much for us to then flip. Possibly. It's kind of on the edge, I would think.
When I was looking at this, I thought for a minute this was the same as the things we picked
up in Huntington. The little soup bowls. So, this is made in Norway. So, we've got five cups,
five sauces, a little jug and sugar bowl, and the coffee. And that is £15. I mean,
that's such a good price. It's a shame. Yeah. So, what you'd have to do is kind of make it.
Let me put these down for a second. What you'd have to do, I suppose, is just make it a set of
four. And you've got the little jug, the little sugar bowl. I mean, how gorgeous is that?
But it's beautiful, isn't it? The colours. It's quite fine as well. So, it's FF. Fikufint
That's my Norwegian accent. I'm working on it. I'm working on it. If we head to Scandinavia,
I need to. My friend Ida from Norway is watching. She doesn't sound very Norwegian to me. Well,
you know what Ida sounded like. So, did it sound like that? A little, actually. A little,
but she wasn't as gruff. Yeah, not as gruff. Well, that's quite cool. I could check that out and see
a little set of four with a coffee pot sugar. It's quite sweet, really. So, that might go for £30.
If we sell it, Terry. I know. Right, let me check it over. Because that little,
where was that from? Sweden, I think. The little coffee espresso set. That sold as well,
I think, in the booth. The kind of brown and cream set that we had. I think that sold.
It's just that's a bit chipped, that cup. Let's see if we've got four good ones. That's the
crucial thing. Just letting everyone have a little look around while you're doing the quality
control. Right, you are. It's rather nice, isn't it? Yeah, I spotted that as I first walked in.
I thought that was quite nice. Hand-painted platter floor with deer. Probably Greek. Yeah,
that's true, actually. Interesting piece of glass. Well, that's nice too, yeah. Maybe that's
more modern? I don't know. Again, that lovely bark effect. £10 nibbles dish. Perfect. Is the
nibble dish nibbled? No. Nice. Well, it seems to me like the little coffee set is in perfect
condition. We've got one cup that is not, but we don't need that cup because we only want to set
a four, so that's lucky. So, should we hold on to all of that? Should we put it on the counter?
I need a basket or a trolley. I need my trolley back. I'll have this orange thing as well,
but I'll leave that just here because there's not much room on your shelf.
If you could, that would be great. I don't suppose you think that because they're all
from the same store, they might do a slightly better price on all these?
I'll leave it with you. Yeah, lovely. Thank you. We'll keep having a look.
Right, let's carry on. Look what I found. Loads of meter sticks and rulers and things.
How cool are these? They're all about £8 each and they're so lovely, aren't they? Made in
Australia, some of them. They all seem to be made in Australia and some of them have got this lovely
brass top. Lovely. So, this store has a real mixture and it's a bit rocky if you get in.
Yeah, just in case. And then you've got this one, which is a
huge ruler. How beautiful is that? £23. So, that's a bit more antique.
Rabone, 1610, five-foot, two-fold ruler. Rare. Pretty beautiful.
Get into rulers. There's a lava lamp. It's got the shape of a lava lamp. So, this one's £28.
A Seda vase. So, we saw one not dissimilar to this and I think we discounted it,
thinking it was modern and it was very much the same shape with the hollow in the bottom. So,
it might be modern but it's the same, perhaps, as the one we saw possibly at Pot Row Carboot
Sale. I'm not sure now. He's got lots of lovely... Look at these. These are not really our period.
These are perhaps earlier. I wonder if they're like 40s, 50s. I mean, look at those with this
lovely beaded bottom section and the red and the blue. Just beautiful. So many beautiful
things in the world. Most of them are old. Yeah. Including ourselves, hey.
Lovely collage. Fabric collage. Well, I was thinking of Andy from All Put Together. She
collects poppy art. Well, she would pick that up because it's £12. She'd say,
oh my god, I gotta have it. Oh my god. I'm so excited. That's my Andy impression.
Do you remember these? Going into the sweet shop and seeing the Fox's Glacier Mint. So,
32 pence for four ounces or a quarter. I suppose that would be good. £19 in perfect condition.
History right there. Yeah, I love you. I love getting sweets in a quarter. So, I've spotted
that chair but I've also spotted something over here. Okay, so, yeah, that's beautiful, isn't it?
It's a little bit frayed at the bottom but generally in good condition. £25. That's not
a bad price. No, that's not bad, is it? I've spotted some laundered tea towels, maybe. Pickles
and chutneys. The only problem is it's already £6 because somebody has already
kind of found it, as it were. I'm going to very carefully unwrap it and have a look at it
because it's so retro. Wow, that is lovely. And it's got the recipes on it. Yeah, banana chutney,
ginger chutney. Absolutely beautiful. So, that's £6. Beautifully washed and laundered. Again,
with all these tea towels, they're often not even used, are they? So, I'll keep rooting through,
see if there's anything that's a little less for us to maybe then sell on. So, we've got a pizza
placemat. £3. That's cool, isn't it? Then we've got a 1960s tablecloth. It's difficult in the
plastic but it almost looks like those bed sheets you'd find. That's a good price. Lots of tea towels
with like, you know, places on and stuff. Lots of older things as well. Embroidered vintage cushion
covers and tablecloths and little doilies and things. Oh, that's cool. What's that?
They've that one. Vintage tea towel. Ich Dein. One serve. Prince of Wales quest surrounded by
dapper dolls. I've done Ich Dein like German and that's probably Welsh. Ich Dein. Because I think
it's got the, as they say, the Prince of Wales quest. So, it's maybe not something for us. And
this is the recipe for Fondue. West German placemat times three. Lovely, aren't they?
Thank you.
So, we are fully loaded. Wow. What a great day in St Ives. I mean, look, we've got bag folds
and you've even got stuff in your rucksack. Might need to get my hat out this afternoon.
So, there we go. That's St Ives done for now. But I think we've got so many beautiful things.
We have to do a haul in Willey. So, we'll see you there. That is beautiful, that piece. I love,
I love it, love it, love it. Well, it's so beautiful. It's got like a Tudor rose underneath.
So, that was, they've very helpfully taken the price off. I think that was five pound.
I was going to say five. I have no recollection of buying it. When you watch the video,
you'll have just seen. So, yeah, it's a really thick, chunky glass and that's really beautiful
for five. So, we think that's probably worth around about, I was just researching it, around
about probably 20, 25. So, it's actually by a designer called, it's Bagley is the designer and
we just thought it was quite cool, didn't we? I like it for ourselves. Yeah, it's really lovely.
So, that was what I was just researching. I think you could use that with the raven head and the
flares and things as a lovely candle holder. So, yeah. What a great day. We haven't even said,
what a great day we had in St Ives. Unbelievable. I mean, it was fantastic. So many things. You were
on a roll with your scarves and, you know, we found scarf after scarf. So, we've got
bric-a-brac, we've got pictures, we've got throws, all sorts. So, where to start? Where to start?
Well, this is my absolute favorite thing ever. I mean, it's so cool. It's so 1980s, maybe early
90s, something like that. But that was a fiver. It's really big, actually. That's got to be worth
£30. Made in Italy, I think. And something about it just screams Italian. Once you said
made in Italy, you could just see, maybe it's the references to maybe slightly terrazzo-y.
Yeah, tutti-frutti style. Yeah, it's just lovely, isn't it? Really funky. So, that's definitely my
favorite. Although, there are lots of kind of favorite things in a way. You're going to go
through your scarves. So, yeah. So, these all happen to be made in Japan. So, these were all £2.99.
What do you think about two foot square? So, these were, I think they're polyester. This is
actually foreign. That one is made in Japan. Just beautiful, isn't it? With the lovely flowers,
the lilies. Beautiful. They're so fine, aren't they? The edging and everything. The way they've all been caught
at the edge is beautiful. And I love how when people wear them as a headscarf. Yeah. I don't
know exactly how you do that. But I know for women, they just put them into a triangle to start
with, I think. And then make some sort of tie. So, they're just beautiful for that. They are. And these
seem to be selling for around about £15 to £18 online. So, we'll see. But for a £2.99 investment,
this one was £3.25. In a different shop. Again, this one is really lovely, isn't it? Really 80s, I would
have thought as well. Similar colours to this one. Slightly more money, but a different texture. More
like a cotton or... Oh, it's actually 100% acrylic, I think it says on the label. But again, I think
made in Japan. So, somebody must have loved Japanese scarves. And their collection was donated.
Yeah, exactly. So, I think they're just nice. When we open the fashion boutique
in the next few weeks, all of these cute scarves and things can all go in. Got this lovely throw.
Again, we just love the colours. They seem to scream retro. Whether they are or not, I'm not
exactly sure. Nothing actually on it, is there? No labels, nothing. So, that was a £5 or £2. That was...
No, £3. Oh, cheaper. £3. That was great. Yeah, £3. So, that's really great, isn't it?
Love the colours and everything. Great size again. More textiles. We got this one here,
which was for a summer throw. It seems like it's more detailed than a modern one. But I mean,
who knows? It might just be a nice expensive one that's modern. You might have the exact same one.
I said I don't like it to start with. You did. But I do like it now. I overruled you, didn't I,
on this particular occasion? I said yes, instead of you saying no. Doesn't listen to me. So,
I don't listen to him either. So, don't worry. We're as bad as one another. So, that was great.
So, lots of textiles. I love the ties. Yeah, the tie is really cute, isn't it? They were £2. So,
we thought, well, a vintage top man for £2. We're selling them for around about £8-ish
in the booth. So, we'll see if they sell. I've only got a few. The ones from Spain cost us 50
cents. So, about 40 pence. Yeah. So, they're a little cheaper. This one we paid up a little
more for. But I mean, even the colour of the top man label against this amazing purple. Absolutely.
So, that was really, really nice. Quite striking. And that was your spot at the back. Yeah, I love
this. Again, we don't think it's old of any sort. No. The make is Alisson. Maybe Alison? Alison.
Some people spell their name Alison like that. Oh, really? £5.50. I think it just looks very
60s, doesn't it? It's got that sort of, again, if you saw Twiggy in it in Beaver magazine or
anything like that. I love these little sort of sleeves with the little pearl buttons.
That is the cutest thing. I could even try that on. Oh my goodness. Well, Tom's not going for
any of these things. I don't know if I'm ready for that, to be honest, let alone the viewers.
So, that was £5.50. I love that. We thought it was just fun. The lady in the charity shop went,
wow, that's a statement. I know, it's just lovely. We also bought these in there. So,
from one extreme to the other, just very everyday functional, possibly posters,
mugs for £4 each, basically £4 for the four. So, we tend to sell them for about a fiver each,
give or take. So, to have a set of four is nice, isn't it? And they're a nice size. They feel
lovely because they've got that really lovely bit glaze on them, really. Yeah, really nice.
So, they're nice. We got a little vintage frame. It's our first time ever buying just a frame.
I think you're a little inspired by Andy from All Put Together. Actually, it makes sense. I mean,
these little things come round, so you don't let the glass and things fall out. But yeah,
you can, it's got a little stand on the back, so you can use it as landscape.
Yeah, whatever you need it for. And actually, it makes sense to have a little vintage frame
because people are always looking for... Well, I'll tell you what we could put in it.
The Elvis Christmas card. Well, that's true. It's about the right size. It is,
because I said to Tom yesterday, you almost don't want to let the Elvis frame postcard go,
because it's so rare, I think. Yeah, so maybe we'll pop it in there and have it as a keepsake.
So, memories of my childhood. Molly Brett. I'm not sure exactly what the memory is,
but I have a memory of it somehow. And these beautiful illustrations, so detailed, so whimsical,
fairy tale. This was a fiver, I think, and just... It was a fiver. Four pound. So, that's
even better. And it's just on this black board. And I mean, relatively cheaply made,
but just lovely in a nursery perhaps, or someone who's into fairy tales and whimsical.
If you were looking at that just as you were falling asleep as a child, you'd have some very
strange dreams that night. Looks like we've got Goldilocks and the Three Bears, Red Riding Hood,
the Three Little Pigs, Pixies, Cinderella. A knight on his horse. It's all going on.
It is all going on. We've got a witch in the tree. Puss in Boots, I think, and all sorts.
Everything. We thought it was fun, and artwork seems to be going really well. And the quirkier
the better in a way, because then it's totally individual, isn't it? So, that's lovely. That's
really good. So, that's all of those. This we've picked up from the courtyard. When we looked at
it to start with, we thought immediately it's definitely 70s, 60s, 70s. But looking at the
back, who knows that it's got like recyclable... We don't think they were using that symbol
in the 70s. I don't think they cared about recycling. They didn't care about recycling.
I think probably it's a Timu thing or an Amazon thing. It's probably nothing special.
We just couldn't leave it, because it was £4. We got 20% off it, which made it £3.20.
But in the centre of a table, I mean, that's just amazing, because with all your nibbles...
Imagine. I mean, it's perfect. How stylish. Yeah, I love that. And it's like a sun,
or a big flower in your hair. Whatever you want to use it for. So, yeah,
I love that. For that price, that's a real statement. We might even keep that ourselves
when we have our little nibble night. Little Soiree nibbles. We love doing super nibbles.
After our friend Elaine invited us around for super nibbles once, we thought, super nibbles,
what's that? We got to her house and she'd done literally super nibbles. I don't think nibbles
is completely not a great description for what she'd done. No. So, it's basically like two meals
or something, but under the guise of nibbles. Lots of nibbles, which is lovely, because you
just keep bringing things out, putting another tray of things in the oven, and you just eat and
chat all night. Making me hungry. In fact, when we unpacked this bag of goodies, I realised we'd
put a pack of Hobnobs in the bag. So, that's ready for our cup of tea. He's looking at them there,
just to have some. And they're in a bright orange packet, so they're very on brand.
And the final thing from St Ives is this fantastic coffee set. So, this, I didn't even look at the
make on the coffee pot, funnily enough. So, it says Touri Design, Tour Viking, made in Finland.
It's a slightly different mark to what's on the cups. So, you've got a coffee pot,
four cups and saucers, a sugar bowl, and a little creamer. So, this was £15 for the whole set,
and it's absolutely beautiful, isn't it? It is, and you got 20% off that as well, I think. No.
Oh, you didn't? Because this was already reduced. It should have been £18. I mean, that's such a good
price anyway. What we often say, we don't buy the coffee pots, but they don't usually come with
four cups and saucers and the full set of stuff. So, and this is so lovely because it's from
Scandinavia, from Norway. I think we could work with that, and even just brew your coffee up and
tip it into it. I mean, even if you just want the cups and saucers, the jug and the sugar bowl to use,
but you want to display it on your kitchen shelf, you'd be more than happy to have the coffee pot,
which you never take down. You don't care because it's so beautiful. And like somebody said to us,
just put flowers in it, you know, just use it as a decorative piece and then use the cups and the
sugar bowl. So, we thought that was an absolutely amazing find in the courtyard, which is an
amazing little kind of open-air, independent, little independent salad. Not just antiques,
there's like candles and all sorts of things. Yeah, quite nice. There was a watchman in there and
everything. And the other thing that proves is, as we said when we were there, don't discount
antique emporiums or, you know, just because someone else has been out and picked the stuff
and curated it, it doesn't matter. That doesn't always mean the prices are higher than the charity
shop these days. No, definitely not. Because it depends what the people have got for themselves.
Maybe they're into house clearance and this may have owed the dealer nothing, like a pound or
for free. Like we found in Ely and a few places lately, the prices of bric-a-brac. Even some of
the places in Huntingdon the other day, crazy high prices on bric-a-brac, you know. But this
courtyard is linked in with a Hyperion auction house and they've given me a list of the
upcoming auctions. They've got a couple in August, right the way through to Christmas
and you can view at the sale room at St Ives, which is linked to the courtyard. So, it's a
lovely light. We didn't look there today. We looked there last time when we came to St Ives.
Amazing vintage mid-century style. Yeah, we loved it. We walked by the door and we looked in and
you said any day normally we would go in. But even though we've done it in two videos, we've
thrifted two places in one day. We must be crazy. We are crazy. So, we literally looked in the door
and thought, wow, that looks cool. And for us to walk past, we had to have been thrifted out.
Thanks so much for joining us in St Ives. We've had a great time. Got some great stuff.
We have. And where are we going to put all this stuff? I know the willy is now getting full. We
are on a bit of a road trip, even though we've not mentioned that. So, we've not got back to
Norwich to unload yet. So, we've still got one more place we're going before we get back to
Norwich and unload. So, we'll keep that secret. So, tune in next time to see where we are.
Thanks for watching today. If you want to watch something similar, click somewhere on the screen
and we'll see you somewhere else. A secret place that we're not going to tell you about for some
reason. We've been there before. We have. There's lots of charity shops. Quite close to St Ives and
Huntingdon. You might be able to guess. Comment below. So, if you want to, we'll see you next
time somewhere else is what I'm trying to say. All Frazzled Out reporting live from St Ives. Bye
Stop talking. Bye for now. Yeah, that's good. We'll keep them guessing. Yeah, fair enough. You tease.
