Gill Vanderlip shares his “36 Roll” - a personal photographic journal.

In Gill’s own words:

I’ve been intrigued with Photography & Guitars for most of my 74 years. My love for photography & music began with a Brownie camera in my hands & the mesmerizing sound of a guitar. As a teen in the 60’s my guitar & the British invasion took precedent; however my Polaroid Land Camera was a close second. In the 1970s my journey into photography was elevated when I purchased a manual Ricoh 35mm camera anxious to learn everything. I created a darkroom in my kitchen & began printing. My natural progression was to combine music with photography by shooting concerts & musicians. Lightning struck in the 1990’s when I discovered the work of Edward Weston. To this day, he continues to inspire me along with others. In the 2000’s my passion for creating photography & original music has inspired me to merge the two as ONE !!!! As a digital photographer I strive to capture the look of vintage film images.
