Material Handling - (3) Robots for animal research cage washing process. The dirty side robot picks multiple cages, dumps, scrapes and loads the cages into the tunnel washer. On the clean side, a descrambler robot uses machine vision to pick and place clean cages in a fixture. The clean side palletizing robot picks a set of cages from the fixture, holds them under the bedding dispenser and palletizes. The process achieves the goal of cleaning thousands of cages per week without human contact.
