Prosecutor breaks down alleged $13.7M Medicare fraud scheme

The federal government is suing former executives Jay Johnson and Austin Wiles of Capstone Diagnostics for allegedly defrauding Medicare of $13.7 million. Between 2019 and 2021, the defendants are accused of submitting approximately 26,000 claims for medically unnecessary genetic and respiratory pathogen tests by targeting church events and senior living communities.
