AI GeneratedMQuan provides a first look at the iPhone Duo, Apple's first folding smartphone. The device features a premium titanium build, a nearly invisible screen crease, and a versatile dual-screen setup. Powered by the A20 Pro chip, it emphasizes high-end performance, improved multitasking, and a sophisticated camera system, marking a significant evolution in the iPhone lineup.
We've been hearing about this device for absolutely ages.
This is the first folding iPhone,
except it's called the iPhone Duo.
I'm MQuan here at Apple Park,
and I'm gonna give you a first look
at this brand new device.
Look how beautiful this looks.
First of all, guys, like in the hand,
this feels like a premium, premium device.
Like it reminds me a lot of the iPhone Air
in terms of like the build quality.
It's made out of titanium.
They've got a premium glass,
both on the front and the back.
Now I'll talk about the opened glass format in a moment,
but like first impressions, look at this.
I mean, look at it.
It looks really nice.
Now it comes in this light color,
and there's also a dark variation over there,
which you can see.
Really, really nice.
I'll give you a closer look,
but let's talk about the cameras first.
I mean, you've got a 48 megapixel fusion camera,
so you also have a telephoto.
You can do ultra wide.
On the front, you've got a 12 megapixel,
and you've got a FaceTime camera on the inside,
which is under the display over there.
On the front, once it's open,
it's a 7.6 inch display curved around the edges,
and look at this.
With one-handed use, it's surprisingly comfortable to use.
I mean, yeah, I can do that with my hands,
but the thing that surprises me most about this
is you have very little sort of reflection,
and then you have the screen that doesn't have,
and it really, and I'm being serious about this,
like I have not been able to find a crease at all.
Now I don't know how that's gonna be
when I continue to use it,
but honestly, slight, slight, slight dip,
but like really, there is no crease.
There is no crease.
5.4 inch display on the front,
which you can see here looks very nice,
and again, the curved element on the sides
make it much more comfortable to hold, to use,
and the multitasking on this is quite interesting as well,
so you can have different apps running side by side
once they're open.
You can press and hold.
Let's show you this.
So if I go like this, I can move it to the side over here,
and maybe let's open photos.
There's photos over here.
Oops.
I've got photos open now.
It seems to be the case that you can alter
the applications so that you have two running side by side.
Oops, let's go with, thank you, messages.
It doesn't, it's not possible to add a third window,
but within this, you could actually work between the apps,
so I can send a picture through an iMessage,
so in that respect, it works quite nice and smoothly.
It's good to see multitasking in this format
come to the iPhone.
Like, really impressed, guys.
I'm very, very impressed.
As I mentioned before, the camera,
48 megapixel Fusion camera with a telephoto.
You also do have ultrawide.
In fact, let's just test that really quickly
with the camera, what it's like.
So you've got ultrawide over here,
and it can take ultrawide shots.
You've got the standard main, 26, 35,
and then you've got 2X,
and it'll go all the way up to 10X over there in zoom,
which is pretty impressive.
I mean, we're expecting the cameras
to have some limitations,
but this is actually much better than I expected.
I think for most people,
this camera is actually a really solid option.
The iPhone Duo is also really impressive
when it comes to the hinge,
because if you look at the hinge,
you can go all the way down there,
and it still doesn't close,
so there's a lot of control in the hinge system,
and the same is true for the other way around.
And the graphics, like, let me just show you that again.
So here it is closed,
and look at this carefully as I open it out.
Look at this.
Whoa, it almost looks like it passes through.
It looks really, really nice.
Now, one thing I couldn't help but try was gaming.
I think it's gonna be a lot of fun on this device,
especially in the different orientations.
It's also powered by the A20 Pro chip,
so for gaming, for all that high-intensity graphic work,
it should be doing really, really well.
One thing that is missing, though, is Face ID.
We don't get that, but instead,
Apple have brought back Touch ID.
So this is Star White and Night Sky.
Basically, a white with titanium, a silver effect,
and a darker variation of that.
They both look absolutely stunning.
Like, honestly, look really, really nice.
This has a hint of blue in there,
if you can see very carefully.
Really, really nice.
It actually looks much more matte than this one,
but I'm sure they're finished with the same sort of effect.
Really, really nice.
You can see that on the hinge as well.
But out of the two of them,
which one would be your favorite?
Let me know in the comments.
For me, personally, I really like this.
Really, really like this.
I think this is much more,
kind of, it reminds me of an iPhone Air,
much more premium-looking, much more refined.
I think that's the word.
Both of them are beautiful and stunning,
but let me know in the comments,
which one would you pick?
