One of the hits on the Moscow oil refinery in Kapotnya in the Moscow region was likely the result of the Russian ground-based anti-aircraft missile and gun system "Pantsir".
The ASTRA channel reported this . The presence of the Pantsir air defense missile and gun system in the Moscow region was also confirmed by the monitoring channel Exilenova+. Judging by video and photo footage available online, there are at least several fires at the refinery. Osinters report that the ELOU-AVT-6 crude oil refining unit is also on fire.
It's worth noting that the Moscow Oil Refinery is one of the largest oil refineries in Russia, with a refining capacity of 11 million tons of oil per year. The refinery supplies approximately 40% of Moscow's fuel market and 70% of the Moscow region's gasoline and jet fuel needs.
According to monitoring channels, the Pantsir air defense missile and gun system was located just 500 meters from the Sofyino logistics technology park, which consists of six buildings with a total area of 290,000 square meters.
The largest fire was also recorded there. Furthermore, another drone strike has been reported. This is TPP-22 in Dzerzhinsky, Moscow Oblast. According to ASTRA OSINT analysis, the strike is located approximately 2 km from the oil refinery in Kapotnya.
However, the authorities did not report an attack on TPP-22.
N. Serebryanikov Thermal Power Plant-22 is a large combined heat and power plant owned by Mosenergo. With a capacity of 1,375 MW, the plant supplies electricity and heat to southeastern Moscow, the Dzerzhinsky District, and part of the Lyubertsy District, and also supplies process steam to the Moscow Oil Refinery.
On the night of September 20, Ukrainian drones launched a massive attack on Moscow and the surrounding region. Local authorities even reported two deaths and six injuries.
Interestingly, Ukrainian drones have already visited the Moscow oil refinery . This was in June. Numerous memes even appeared online featuring the lid being ripped off an oil tank.
