The Ukrainian Armed Forces have managed to stabilize the situation in Kostiantynivka, which was considered all but lost this summer. This is a major change on one of the most tense sections of the front: at the beginning of the summer, it was believed that the city could be completely captured by Russia, but this did not happen. According to the publication's sources, the situation in Kostiantynivka itself was stabilized about a month ago. Ukrainian troops cleared out some of the Russian groups that had managed to infiltrate the city. According to RBC-Ukraine sources, General Nikolyuk played a significant role in stabilizing the situation. Russia has failed to quickly capture Kostiantynivka, although just a few months ago this scenario seemed the most likely. This doesn't mean the danger to the city has disappeared. The Russian army has not abandoned its offensive in this direction. After protracted frontal attacks, the enemy is increasingly attempting to outflank Ukrainian positions. "It's unlikely the Russians will approach Slavyansk by the end of the year; perhaps Kramatorsk, but the city is so fortified that our troops could remain there for months. The biggest threat by the end of this year currently appears to be Konstantinovka," one of the publication's sources said. Over the course of the year, the hottest area in the East changed several times. Initially, the peak of fighting was in the Pokrovskoe direction, then shifted to Konstantinovskoe, and later to Slavyanskoye. "At the beginning of the year, the peak of fighting was in the Pokrovskoe area. Then it shifted to Konstantinovskoe. Then to Slavyansk, where it's relatively quiet now. And now the peak is shifting again to the Pokrovsk-Dobropolsk sector," one of RBC-Ukraine's sources said. The success of the Third Army Corps' operation in the Donetsk sector was made possible by the fact that everything was carried out in complete silence, reported Yuriy Fedorenko. If the Ukrainian Defense Forces' actions continue to be shrouded in secrecy, the chances of a successful counteroffensive are very high. Fedorenko pointed out an important point in what Biletsky said about the Defense Forces' successes: " Did you watch Brigadier General Biletsky's video? I did. He said, 'Friends, that's true, but please, let's not talk about it. Let us do our job.' I comment as follows. First: communication on this operation is entrusted exclusively to the Third Army Corps.
