Driver caught on video using sidewalk to pass stopped school bus

A driver was caught on video using a sidewalk to pass a stopped school bus with its flashing stop arm extended on West Second Street in Bridgeport, prompting concern from neighbors, parents and police.

The incident occurred Sept. 16 at about 6:30 a.m. Video shows a Jeep and another vehicle waiting behind a stopped school bus. After several seconds, one driver left the roadway and drove onto the sidewalk to go around the bus despite the bus's stop arm being clearly deployed.
