Hey girl! Hi!
What you laugh at when you saw me?
How you doing?
Mama, did you do a Humpty Dumpty?
You had a great fall.
Did you fall down?
You fell? Huh?
Are you okay?
You are?
Let me check you out, girl.
You know I dropped everything I was doing and came here.
Were you limping?
Is this okay?
Everything's okay?
Alright, well you had some meds but you seem like you out of it.
Mama?
Norma?
Are you okay?
Dang!
Mama, show me what hurts.
Show me.
Mama, show me what hurts.
Something hurt you?
Huh?
Mama, is something hurting you?
No, nothing hurts?
Okay, do me a favor.
Sit up and drink your little juice, okay?
Alright.
Okay.
Oh, be careful.
There you go.
Is it good?
Okay.
You finished with that?
Would you like a snack?
Here.
Alright, I'll take this for you.
Okay.
Nothing's going to stop you from eating your snack though, huh?
You're watching me.
Watching me like a hawk, girl.
Taking a nap, waiting for them to come with the x-ray.
Is she sleeping?
Hello.
How are you?
Good.
I had a hell of a time.
I'm going to try and give Mama peanut butter and jelly.
See if she can eat it.
And some yogurt.
And some Ensure.
I'll try.
All the days of Mama fighting and cutting up, I will take those days over this any day.
Okay, can you eat peanut butter and jelly?
Can you eat a little bit for me?
Here, oh my.
You have not eaten today at all.
And it's 4.30.
Okay?
Good job.
I thank you so much for doing this.
Because you're going to have to get some pain medicine.
So you need something on your stomach, okay?
Okay.
She wouldn't eat for nobody today.
I hear like right after they tried to give her lunch.
But she went to sleep, so I couldn't give her anything.
But, oh, she's doing a good job for me.
Mm-hmm.
Ready?
Good job.
Mm-hmm.
Good job.
You like it?
Mm-hmm.
Okay, perfect.
If you don't eat anything, you'll lose your strength, okay?
Mm-hmm.
So you have to eat.
Open, open, open.
Open, Mama.
Okay.
It's just yogurt, okay?
Mm-hmm.
Your leg hurt?
I know.
I'm going to see if they can give you some more pain medicine since you're eating.
Mama, look.
Mm-hmm.
I want you to be real comfortable, okay?
All right.
Yeah, I don't want all this stuff down here while you're trying to rest.
You can't have it.
Okay.
I'm going to clean your bra out so you can be nice and comfortable.
Okay.
While you're on bed rest.
Mm-hmm.
Okay?
Mm-hmm.
All right.
Whole baby can't drink.
Okay, good job.
Good job.
I do.
Oh, man.
She won't let me touch her or help her.
All right.
You going to try?
The meds must have kicked in.
Mm-hmm.
She won't let me touch her.
Oh, boy.
What, you got to go bathroom?
Oh, God.
You got to go bathroom?
Okay.
Well, this is progress with those pants.
This is our third pants change of the day.
Third.
Third change of pants.
Woo, dog.
I'm tired.
I don't know why.
Woo.
Now we got to get our silver socks on.
Get your silver socks on.
Limping but moving.
I'll take it.
What you just did.
I told you.
I told you I'm worn out.
Look what you did.
Girl.
That's a lot.
You're not going to sing?
You don't feel like it?
We're going to sit right here and just listen to Anita Baker, okay?
you don't think so?
Okay, well, guess what?
You're looking better.
Down here she couldn't walk.
So, progress.
We made it to dinner.
Mama done made me feed her the whole way.
I'm telling you.
I don't even drink and I need me a bottle of wine tonight.
What you think, Mama?
The next day.
Oh, it's me.
Oh, my girl's still all messed up.
You're still messed up?
Where?
On your leg.
Huh?
On your leg, mama.
You wanna talk with my leg?
Yeah.
What?
Your leg still hurting?
You okay?
You didn't see?
Okay.
So, I just left a meeting
to go over mama's x-rays from yesterday.
There's no hairline fracture, nothing is fractured,
and I just checked her myself.
There's no swelling, nothing.
It's just weird.
So, there's sinus arthritis,
but one of the nurses just told me
that this recently happened to him,
and it was a sciatic nerve.
She's just in a lot of pain,
and I'm having a hard time coping with this.
And I was gonna spend the night last night,
but they gave her some pain meds,
and she ended up going to sleep.
So, I went home.
I literally was crying all night.
So stressful.
And I was gonna say some more, but I won't.
Yeah, so that's where we are.
Pray for me, please.
Oh, okay, I'm gonna pray for you.
All right, okay.
Please pray for me.
This is about to take me out.
What you saying, mama?
Huh?
Prayer?
Girl.
I am praying that you feel better tomorrow.
I can't go through this one more day with you, girl.
This thing bringing me down on my knees.
Woo!
That's how it is.
That's how it is?
Mm-hmm.
Okay.
Well, are you feeling any better?
Huh?
That bead takes your strength, honey.
This is just not cute at all.
Take a bite.
I see you peeped them eyes open for some more.
I got a temporary blanket on one,
so she left hers all up.
