On a vast low-lying marshland in Vermilion Parish, Louisiana, SpaceX is building a giant rocket facility. It's called Terabay.
Honestly, the idea of a huge facility itself isn't new — Gigabay already exists in Texas and Florida.

Here's a comparison that puts it in perspective. Starbase, Texas — SpaceX's original home base — only cost around $3.5 billion to get off the ground in its early days. So Louisiana isn't just a bigger version of Texas. It's nearly thirty times the investment.
That gap actually makes sense once you look at what SpaceX is trying to do. Elon Musk isn't just copying and pasting the Starbase blueprint onto a new patch of land. He's scaling it up, many times over. And that scale-up is really about chasing something SpaceX has struggled to pull off in the Lone Star State or the Sunshine State. Although SpaceX has not yet provided precise details about this area, some hypotheses believe it could be over four times the area of the existing Gigabay design.
