You reach it by a quiet country road, then a tree-lined drive. Nothing gives it away from the lane. Yet this 17th-century chateau looks out over a wide sweep of hills and vines that runs all the way to the Pyrenees.
Ground floor: service rooms, a conservatory that catches the first of the morning sun and, at the far end, a large wine cellar.
Upper floors: a sweeping stone staircase rises to the first floor and the main entrance. High, ornately carved ceilings, original doors crowned with carved stone plaques, oak floors, half-timbered walls and French windows opening onto small balconies.
