Flea infestation keeps elementary school students learning remotely

A flea infestation at Aura Elementary School in Gloucester County, New Jersey, has forced students to learn remotely while the building undergoes treatment and cleaning.

The school, which serves students from pre-kindergarten through sixth grade in Elk Township, has been closed as officials work to address the infestation.

According to a notice posted on the school's website Sept. 17, fleas were found in the media center, and the building was being sprayed as part of emergency pesticide use.
