I Went to Sri Lanka to Slow Travel | What That Really Looked Like

Hey everyone :) this video is a little out of order but I still wanted to share. These were my first few weeks on Sri Lanka's south coast near Hiriketiya. The heat in March & April was extreme, and I struggled with feeling motivated to film. But I did my best to create and slowly figure out a routine. And in between were some really special moments - learning to make coconut oil with my guesthouse host Malika, visiting the small spice grinding mill she and her husband run, and ending it all with a sunrise kayak on Rekawa Lagoon.
My friend Eva was a big part of this story, too. She recently made Sri Lanka her home and was pretty much the reason I ended up there in the first place.
This isn't really your typical tourist trip but just real life in a really beautiful place. Hope you enjoy :)
🏡 Malika and her husband were amazing hosts. Their guesthouse is called Blooming Garden: https://maps.app.goo.gl/DWvgZYfSYXUff...
Filmed: March & April 2026
and special thanks to Eva and Lakith for helping me film the kayaking scene :)
