73-year-old man punches bear in face to save his after hearing his chihuahua crying

A 73-year-old California man found himself face-to-face with a black bear after hearing his Chihuahua whimpering outside his home.

Carl Moore says the bear was getting dangerously close to his dog, Lacy, when he stepped in. After shouting and trying to scare the animal away, the encounter took an unexpected turn — one witnessed by a longtime friend who was standing nearby.
