Sunset Blues in Faro, Portugal - 'In Awe' (original)

I am getting on well with my new equipment setup (loopy Pro on iPad). It's a relief! I had a couple of sessions that were a little worrying, where the sound was disappointing, but I have now figured out what the problem was, and I am flying again!

Loopy Pro is a monster, and the possibilities for the future are limitless. My challenge now is to not get carried away. I don't want to get lost in technicalities when I play. It is all about the story and the dynamics. Less is more.

This version of 'In Awe', at sunset in Faro, Portugal, is a good example. I am getting used to the new setup to the point where I can enjoy the playing again. There were a couple of things that threw me still, such as the solo part, where I ended up with a double guitar solo for a couple of bars. But hey, I like surprises, and sometimes they lead to magic.

I am confident that Loopy Pro will lead to lots of new stuff, in time, bit by bit. For now, I am happy that I am enjoying playing on the street again, with a new setup, and a better sound. And Portugal is magic!

As you probably know, 'In Awe' is from my album 'The Crumbling of The Berlin Wall'. You can listen to the whole album here:

Which version do you prefer? The version with Iban on didgeridoo from the album, or this live version in Faro?
