MDOT closing parts of WB I-696 this weekend

Westbound I-696 will experience significant closures this weekend from I-75 to the Lodge to facilitate a major traffic shift. While commuters express frustration over ongoing construction, MDOT views this as a milestone in the \"Restore the Route\" project, moving traffic back to the newly rebuilt original side of the freeway.
