Jai Sri Manarayana.
Lord Sri Krishna and Balarama had grown in Nandakulam for 14 years.
On receiving an invitation from Kamsa in the name of Dhanuryaga,
they reached Madura.
They attacked all demons including Kamsa and killed them.
Then they wanted to meet Gargacharya who was their first guru.
Of course, they could not continue their studies there.
Lord Sri Krishna being Jagadguru,
did not require any teacher for himself.
However, he was born in this world like others. So he had
to follow all rules and regulations just like other human beings.
Anyway, anyone who wanted
to shine in life should choose a Sadhguru and acquire knowledge.
In fact, the purpose of his
arrival to this world was to make himself a model to all
and should lay a path to them. So he too
had chosen an acharya.
Those were the days a great person named Sandipani, known for many
arts of knowledge.
Sri Krishna and Balrama reached Gurukula and made him as their guru.
Sandipani knew that Lord Krishna was Jagatguru.
What can I teach him? He thought. But God himself
gave him opportunity to be his acharya.
Sandipani taught all 64 skills to him. Each aspect would
take years together. But Lord Sri Krishna learnt everything within
no time and got good name from
his Acharya. After completion of his education,
Sri Krishna asked, Acharya, we had completed our
education successfully. We are very grateful to you.
What can we give as the token of gratitude
to you? Choosing me as your guru itself is a great gurudakshina for me.
That itself is a great
achievement in my life.
I know that you don't need to learn anything from me. Honoring me,
accept me as your Acharya is my Guru Dakshina.
So, you need not give anything to me, said Sandipani.
Being your disciples, we have to pay our tribute to you.
We have to follow those rules and make
others follow.
Please tell Swami whatever you want, requested Lord Sri Krishna.
Okay, I will consult
with my wife and let you know what we want.
Saying so, he went inside to ask his wife. His wife knew
that Lord Krishna could give their son who lost his life
while taking bath. So, she expressed
service to get her son back with life.
Sandipani came back and said, please give back our son who
became victim of water. Lord Sri Krishna was awestruck.
He thought that he would ask for
salvation. Anyway, he had to fulfill his Acharya's wish.
Thinking so, he went to the sea to consult
with the sea god and came to know that Sandipani's son was with Yama.
Lord Sri Krishna sent a word
to Yama and ordered him to give back his Acharya's son with life.
When the Lord himself directly gave
an order, he had to obey.
So he handed over the boy to Sri Krishna. He blessed the sea
and Yama and gifted the boy as great tribute
to the couple of Sandipani. Both of them were
very much pleased and blessed Sri Krishna and Balrama.
Thus, Sri Krishna's gratitude
to Acharya made him Jagadacharya. Thank you. Jai Sri Manarayana.
