Former Assistant Attorney General Theo Wold explains that a judge must find probable cause before approving a search warrant, meaning investigators presented evidence suggesting material connected to a possible crime could be found at the property.

“In order to get a search warrant authorised and signed by a judge, you've got to have probable cause,” Mr Wold told News24 host Elizabeth Pipko.

“So that means that what investigators presented to that magistrate was sufficient to prove that there is some kind of nexus potentially located in that house, documentation, a hard drive or some kind of evidence related to a crime.”
