Federal agents from Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) searched US Congresswoman Ilhan Omar’s Minneapolis home on October 12 as part of an ongoing investigation into questions surrounding her immigration paperwork from the 1990s. Border czar Tom Homan had confirmed the investigation in September. The search comes amid wider immigration enforcement operations across the United States and concerns raised by critics over the treatment of immigrant communities, including the Somali community in the Twin Cities.
