Video Summary
AI GeneratedThe region is experiencing a period of unseasonably warm and muggy weather with high humidity and temperatures reaching near 100°F. While rain chances remain low through the week, a cold front arriving early Friday morning will bring a significant temperature drop and more comfortable conditions for the weekend.
Good Tuesday morning. Hopefully you're having a great start to the day.
When you step outside, you'll notice it doesn't feel
as comfortable for sure.
We are a whole lot warmer and muggier than this time yesterday.
And that will continue through the day.
Strong south winds increasing our humidity even more.
Temperatures well above normal.
Feels like conditions close to the century mark this afternoon.
So a little bit going backwards.
But I promise this heat's not going to last forever.
We still have low rain chances for the rest of the week.
We'll discuss where in just a bit. And then our cold front
arrives very early Friday morning, drying us out,
bringing in much cooler air for the weekend,
kind of where we should be. It's going to feel a whole lot nicer.
But today, that south wind,
easily up to 25, maybe some gusts to 30 miles
an hour during the afternoon hours. That gets us
back into the 90s. And right now, mid and upper 70s, not great.
76 in Bridgeport, 78 in McKinney,
77 for Athens, 79 in Sulphur Springs.
Tack on a couple degrees, that's your feels like. We
already have a little bit of a heat index to speak
of and we are generally quiet across the state
but a lot of these clouds will keep moving in from the south
and west so expect morning clouds
partly sunny this afternoon
so we're not talking full sunshine very similar setup to yesterday
our next upper level disturbance still hanging
out out west producing some snow across Nevada
this morning this is going to head east
and then help bring our cold front in so until that front
gets here it's very warm uncomfortable
and our rain chances are generally low today i've left
us at that 10% south and east only isolated shower
or storm with heating of the day that's it sun
goes down we'll take the rain out
of your forecast tomorrow could see a shower or rumble really
anywhere but i still think the coverage of rain
is low on the order of 20% so still most of us
just hot humid no relief with any rainfall
and then as we get into Thursday the best coverage
We'll be off to the north and west of the Metroplex going through
the late afternoon and evening hours.
Our front comes in and then shifts to the south.
So after Friday morning, I take rain out of your forecast.
North winds take over and that cooler air arrives.
So most of us may be a trace of rain if we get anything at all.
I'd say two different areas to watch for those higher rain totals.
Well off to the north and west, kind of outside of North Texas.
And then for our southeastern counties where the higher moisture levels
are, you may get more than one thunderstorm.
But I'm still thinking this is overall very low coverage
and not as much as we'd like to see.
There's your forewarned seven-day forecast.
Highs in the upper 80s to low 90s over
the next few days with these low rain chances.
Your feels like temperature will still be near the century mark.
Mornings very warm and muggy.
And then as we dry out behind that front, it'll look and feel fantastic
this weekend with mornings in the 50s and afternoons.
in the low to mid 70s.
