And for the most part, we had very nice weather during
the entire stretch of the State Fair.
Had a little rain to contend with, but we certainly needed it.
That fell early in October.
Since then, it's been very dry again.
This is the drought monitor from late last week,
and that's a lot of orange and red on the map there.
The red denotes extreme drought conditions.
We've got a spot of that just northeast of DFW,
also up around Paris into the Sulphur Springs vicinity.
severe drought stretching through the heart
of the metroplex down into Ellis County and
southeastern Hill County
and then just about everyone else is at least seeing moderate drought
so we do need some rain
although we don't have any in the offing it looks like for the rest of
this week beautiful fall weather
though can't complain about that 77 today 52 the low 77 and
56 the averages. There's the rainfall deficit for 2026,
about three inches below average.
Taking a look out there right now,
got a few high clouds mixed with the sunshine,
a very pleasant temperature, 75 Cedar Creek Lake,
76 in Plano, and 75 at Lake Ray Roberts. We're
72 at Granbury, it's 73 in Bridgeport, 76 Bonham,
and checking in right now at 77 in Canton. Not a
whole lot to show you here across the region.
Just a few sprinkles of rain making their way across
the panhandle. Next, Pacific Storm System is set to dive southward.
It's going to bring quite a bit
of rain to Southern California,
but then instead of heading eastbound in our direction, it is going
to take a turn well off to the northeast
and being diverted by a big building ridge of high pressure.
There's a look at temperatures around the country,
and many folks are feeling and looking like fall.
It's 56 at Green Bay right now, 71 in Denver,
and 64 at this hour in San Francisco.
So this ridge of high pressure that's currently in northern Mexico,
watch it build, and watch what that does.
That diverts that area of low pressure well off to our north
and west, so we'll stay warm
and dry as that low tracks well off to our northwest.
Mostly clear skies for tonight, seasonally cool.
Look for lows falling back into the mid-50s.
We are going to see a warming trend this week,
up to 80 tomorrow, 82 Wednesday, mid-80s then Thursday,
right through the upcoming weekend.
A few more clouds come our way Saturday and Sunday,
and morning lows will be warming up a few degrees as well.
