In this spotlight, we revisit a 1946 animated comedy gem: Northwest Hounded Police

Tex Avery’s genius at work—defying logic and completely breaking the fourth wall! 🐺✏️🚪 In this spotlight, we revisit a 1946 animated comedy gem: *Northwest Hounded Police*.
This clip shows us the two extremes of the Wolf’s incredible and impossible escape. First, while locked in Cell 13, he pulls out a yellow pencil and simply draws a door on the stone wall; he then opens it and strolls freely through the prison corridors, dodging the warden who is floating along the ceiling. But the real madness comes at the end: after rappelling down a rope and leaving a "Vacancy" sign on his cell, the Wolf escapes by literally crossing the entire map of North America—passing through San Francisco, Los Angeles, and New York—to reach the snowy forests of Canada. Yet, no matter how far he draws his path, Sergeant Droopy is already waiting for him there with his "Wanted" sign! Pure magic from the Golden Age of animation!
