Domestic-related shooting investigation underway

Up at 11, we start with a news alert out of Pinellas County, where deputies are investigating a domestic-related shooting. Deputies say the shooter left the scene with a young child in the car, and they just managed to track him down. Let's go live now to FOX 13's Jennifer Vagelis, live on Main Street, where this investigation is still unfolding. Jen, set the scene for us and tell us what happened there. Yeah, Chris, we're told that the shooting took place around 9 p.m., and two hours later, the scene is very active, with Pinellas County deputies investigating what happened at the Harbor Bar. We'll give you a look at what's going on still, where we have seen deputies going in and out of the property and the surrounding area is wrapped in yellow police tape. The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office says there was a domestic-related shooting here. A man left the scene with his young child in the car and was found shortly after by deputies and taken into custody. Now, we're told that a woman was rushed to the hospital and it is unclear how she is doing. The Pinellas County Sheriff's Office assures us that the child is safe but for now the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office says that drivers and pedestrians should avoid this area as they continue their investigation. Chris. And again and I apologize I wasn't clear to our viewers in the beginning this happened in Safety Harbor rather unusual that's considered one of the more safe areas in Pinellas County. Any reaction from from neighbors or witnesses there? Yeah it was It was surprisingly quiet when we did arrive here around 10 PM. Main Street usually is a pretty active area, but I believe since it's a Tuesday evening, these businesses shut down a little bit earlier. But this is known as an area that attracts families and people of all ages. So thankfully, as the Pinellas County Sheriff's Office said, it was just a woman who was transported to the hospital and this is a domestic related matter. So there is no danger to the public at this time, Chris. Hopefully she recovers, and good work by the deputies getting that person in hand there and that the child is safe.
