How to make some seriously silly soda. Chuckola Cola and other Mario & Luigi elements are property of Nintendo.
What You Need:
What You Need: 1/3 cup blueberries 1/3 cup peeled grapes 1/3 cup pomegranate juice 1/2 cup sugar 2/3 cup water 1/2 TBL lime juice Club soda or seltzer, to serve
Directions:
Combine your fruit and pomegranate juice in a medium pot. Add sugar and water. Mash fruit with a potato masher. Bring to a boil.
As it boils, feel free to tell your syrup jokes. The cornier the better. Once it boils, turn down to medium low heat and cook for 15 minutes. Stir as it cooks. Strain out fruit.
Add lime juice and citric acid. Store syrup in a small jar or sealable container in the fridge. Once cool, it’s ready to use.
To make a Chuckola Cola: combine club soda or seltzer to taste. Serve icy cold.
Fizzy with thirst? Let's make some home-brewed Chocola Cola.
You're gonna need three types of Chocola beans.
You'll need purple, white, and red. Red is hard
to source, so feel free to use juice.
Add them all to a medium sauce pot and add sugar. Add some
water. Now pound those beans with a hammer or a potato masher.
Really knock the tar out of it.
Bring it to a boil.
As it heats up, tell those beans some jokes.
It helps create bubbles.
Hey what what did the Koopa say to the home intruder?
He said get the shell out of my house.
Get it because he's a turtle. He's a turtle monster.
Oh boy I might have to toss out this
batch. Anyway cook it for 15 minutes on medium low heat.
When it's done pour it through a strainer.
Then you can stir in a little bit of lime juice.
Pour it into a sealable container and keep in the
fridge until you're ready to use it.
I like serving mine up in pretty flip-top bottles.
Just mix up some club soda with as much
of the chocola syrup as you want.
Ooh, it's packed with antioxidants,
so don't be surprised if the soda leaves
you feeling totally super... yummy.
