Video Summary
AI GeneratedThis video provides a simple, step-by-step tutorial on how to create miniature leeks using polymer clay. The creator demonstrates how to blend colors, shape the clay using a pasta machine, and bundle the finished pieces with washi tape to mimic how leeks are sold in Denmark.
Hello everyone
and welcome to my channel.
Today I'm going to make leeks
and for that I am using
a opaque white, a light green and a green color clay.
And the light green and the green color I
mix a tiny bit of both into a different green.
So I actually have three greens. Then I go from
the lightest color to the darkest color I place them together
and then I am going to roll that
in my pasta machine and I rolled this in the wrong direction
so I got a long piece I want a thin
strip of this but long in the lines anyway I
am putting it through my pasta machine again and
to make the transition from white to green go a little better and from
green to more green better and then
so on so that it looks a little more
uniform and I am squeezing it together here
and there to make sure it is not
getting too wide for me.
When I'm happy with the transition of the colors I am
making sure I have it lying really nice
and flat here and then I'm just making a
nice flat edge and yes the green is going
a little crooked here but that's
all fine. Now I'm using my x-acto knife
and I am cutting from where the white
ends and out and I'm doing that five six times
and then I'm carefully rolling the
clay around itself
and that's actually all there is for making leeks. This is a
a really, really simple craft.
Then I'm just making sure I have all the leaves divided.
I missed one here. Cut the rest off and there is one of my leaks.
And now I just do this until I
don't have any more clay on my work surface.
I am placing all my leaks onto a piece of ceramic
vat and I'm doing that because
then I won't have that flat side on one side of these leaks. They
will be nice and round all the way around.
If you don't have this ceramic vat you might get
a piece of that from a ceramic person near you
or you can use a piece of a hand towel,
a paper hand towel just fold it a few times
and place your creation on top of that if you want
more leaks than you can get of this one potion here
then you are just going back starting over
using your white and your green clay putting
that through the pasta machine and you are happy
place it on your work surface
and go ahead cut these leaves parts and then roll it together
It's really that simple.
After everything has
cooled down, I am going
to take some of my
washi tape. I have this cool vintage washi tape
that has a tiny bit of text on it, and I am going
to cut pieces of this tape. I just have to get it open first.
Sometimes these can be so hard to open
up. Then I'm going to cut a strip
of this and from that strip I am cutting smaller strips here
just like this. I placed my strip of tape here
on the roll itself. Then I took three leeks,
placed them together and I wrapped this tape around them,
my washi tape. And there I have
a bundle of leeks. That's how we get them in Denmark
so that's how I'm doing it. If you get
them different by you then maybe do it different.
You can also leave them single if you want that
so don't put any tape around it but that's all up to you.
I know this is a very simple video
but sometimes I just need to do something that is simple
and doesn't take a lot of time
to get on the internet and here it is.
And if you liked my video it would mean a lot to me if you
