All right, weather-wise, we've got
some rain on the way for this weekend,
and it's going to be sweeping changes, a lot of wind out there as well.
But today, serene, 71 right now in Orlando.
There could be some fog developing later
this morning toward daybreak in Gainesville and in Ocala,
but right now we're looking pretty good there, 70 in Titusville.
And so to get you out the door for your bus stop forecast,
we'll see about 72 at the bus stop this morning, 88 degrees
by 3 o'clock as the kids start heading home on this Thursday.
It is October 15th. Here we are squarely in the middle of the month.
Radar is quiet for now, but it will be very busy tomorrow.
First off today, we may see a couple of downpours popping up,
highly isolated in nature, around 5 p.m.
Just about the time of the evening, you start heading home,
at least skies will look a little bit threatening
and you may drive through a quick shower.
Otherwise, the activity will end.
Now tomorrow, with the approach of a cold front,
we're going to see our rain chances going up.
In fact, mid-morning, we may start to see a couple
of showers popping up and by the afternoon,
4 or 5 o'clock, a couple of stronger storms possible.
Damaging wind gusts can't be ruled out in one or two of these storms.
And as we head into our Friday evening, the storms could
continue through 10 or 11 o'clock before finally moving out.
That's the cold front.
Now, the cold front right now is strewn across Texas and Oklahoma,
and it gets here tomorrow night.
And it's going to make a pretty fast sweep southward,
so it's got some momentum with it.
That's why tomorrow we get into the storm chances.
Front sweeps through Friday night,
and it kind of stalls out over South Florida.
So it's going to be a rainy weekend across South Florida
with showers Saturday morning around Orlando.
And then behind the front, and this is going
to be the most impactful weather for us,
we're going to have winds out of the northeast gusting between 40
and 45 miles per hour coming in off the Atlantic.
That means passing clouds, more clouds than sun,
overcast skies, also passing showers,
and huge waves, rough surf, just not ideal, to say the least.
It'll be cooler at least.
We'll see highs in the 70s to around 80, which will be nice,
and we're going to enjoy that for the better part of next week.
So that's a change a lot of Floridians who've just weathered
the entire summer are actually really looking forward to.
But if you're here on vacation this weekend,
it's going to be mixed at best for us.
Now, if you're going to the attractions, it'll be a lot better.
The winds won't be quite as crazy.
There will be a couple of passing showers around,
but it won't be a day-ender for you or anything like that.
Here's Daytona right now.
Now, something that could get impacted
a lot is Biketoberfest, unfortunately.
Kicks off today.
We'll see about 85 today.
just a 20% chance of rain. Today will be probably the best day there.
60% chance tomorrow, kind of
a summer pattern tomorrow with some scattered storms.
Then Saturday and Sunday becoming windy
and highs in the upper 70s.
Sunday looks to be windier, a steady northeast wind about 25 to 30,
gusting over 40 miles an hour.
So a lot of motorcyclists doing their rides around the area
up and down A1A, maybe looking at some big puddles and wet conditions.
All right, the other part of
that weather story is that as the front sweeps through,
the wave action is going to become quite
dangerous on our Atlantic beaches.
We can see waves of anywhere from 10 to 15 feet
with seas over 20 feet. Hazardous boating conditions.
If you want to have a beach
day, you're here on vacation, you got the family,
I'd head over to the Gulf Coast,
Clearwater Beach down in Sarasota
or anywhere in between, maybe St. Pete Beach.
At least there it's gonna be flat
on the beaches with the offshore flow. So heads
up on that regard. It's gonna be a little bit
of a drive for you, about two and a
half, three hours to get over there,
but it may be worth it if you're looking for
like a classic Florida beach day
also there's gonna be more sunshine on the west coast no
tropical activity expected over the next seven days
that's good news of course the hurricane
season continues through the end of November there
are some signs that we may see some activity over
the next coming weeks but nothing imminent all right 20 percent chance
of rain today 60 percent chance tomorrow
Saturday in Orlando Sunday our rain chances will
be lower 20 percent chance but they'll be higher
along the coast windy from Saturday right through Tuesday of next week
and look at those highs
High temperatures Saturday through Wednesday, close to 80.
That's a big change compared to highs being close to 90.
All right, let's get to our snap of the sun this morning.
Here's a shot from Kevin Johnson in West Melbourne.
That's a beautiful picture.
We've got some big old puffy clouds,
and it looks like a rainbow forming.
