DeKalb County officers arrest two in teen's murder

The family of a 19-year-old who was shot and killed is grieving tonight. Someone murdered Anthony Tater Malik-Lenard on Sunday at Treasure Cove Drive near Decatur, and today that family is speaking publicly. Fox 5's Larry Sproul is live at DeKalb Police Headquarters after talking with the family. Larry? Good evening, Courtney and Russ. Now, that family tells me the last few days have been very tough for them. A lot of nights of no eating and a lot of tears, and right now they're just wondering why. That's a piece of me. My everything. My whole world. I'm so empty. Empty, heartbroken, and hurting. And Brea Leonard tells me she's feeling all three emotions rolled into one. That's because her oldest son, 19-year-old Anthony Tater Malik Leonard, was murdered on Sunday. Now, it's here in this cul-de-sac here in DeKalb County where police found 19-year-old Anthony Leonard's body shot in his car. You can still see glass right there on the ground from that shooting. His family tells me they are still trying to figure out why this happened. Horrible. Not good at all. Because Anthony, who I call Tater, is my grandchild. He didn't deserve this. He wasn't in no gang. Marion Willis says that's why none of this makes sense. He had just got accepted to school. He was trying to be an HVAC. He wanted to repair stuff, and he was working. He worked at Goodwill. He was just an all-around good kid. They took my oldest son from me. He had 12 other sisters and brothers. He was the oldest. Like, it hurts. His father, Azalea Tucker, tells me his son was simply heading to a family member's house when he was murdered. He was going to his auntie's house to get some food. My child did not deserve this at all. And police arrested 21-year-old Ershawn Roach George and 17-year-old Alexandria Webb. Both are charged with murder and armed robbery. We're live at DeKalb County Police Headquarters. I'm Larry Sproul, Fox 5 News.
