Okay, some of us had some strong thunderstorms.
Check out that shelf cloud out
in Palo Pinto County yesterday from Fox 4 chaser Chad Casey.
Yeah, a few of these storms produced some gusty winds, torrential rain,
higher rain totals in that 3 to 4 inch range estimated out west.
And then as everything made its way into the I-35 corridor,
we saw a lot of weakening because the front moved south
and drier air started to really dry everything up.
So at DFW, just a tenth of an inch of rain.
We still have a deficit of 2.4 inches on the year.
Of course, not great.
And now with this very strong north wind continuing through the day,
it's drying us out very quickly.
So while a couple of spots still have a little bit
of drizzle out there this morning, that's not going to last very long.
Our winds could gust beyond 40 up to 50 miles
an hour as we go through the day.
So our wind advisory that was issued yesterday,
now it goes until 7 p.m.
upper 50s off to the northwest with some mid 60s south
and east so we are cooling off and where you
are now you're not going to be that much warmer
this afternoon thanks to these stronger north
winds which are still gusting in the 30 to 40 mile
an hour range in several spots so that'll
be on and off through the day
and while yes we do have a few sprinkles here and there nothing
significant you may need the windshield wiper once
or twice at best but overall we're looking pretty
good and that rain continues to shift south.
So I expect us to drop a couple more degrees for our
low this morning and then getting into the afternoon,
low 60s at lunchtime, clearing skies
and then a high near 64. So we start out mainly cloudy
and I do think we get some breaks in those
clouds after this stronger north wind kind of takes over
and moves everything out. Skies will
be pretty clear tonight and that along with a north breeze,
8 to 12, maybe some higher gusts
means really chilly air.
Mid and upper 40s in most locations, lower 40s possible as you head
north and west especially.
So I'm talking Red River and areas like Jacksboro, Mineral Wells,
Bowie. It'll be cool tomorrow morning
and then even with a lighter wind, you'll have a wind
chill factor. So you can take off a few degrees,
that'll be your feels like. Getting into the
afternoon, lots of sun, pretty much full sun.
It's going to look beautiful and we're back with those
mid-60s. Yet again, we have another chilly night,
Saturday night, and then a slow warming trend
going through next week. So here's your seven-day forecast.
Still a little bit of drizzle,
maybe some sprinkles here and there in a couple spots this morning,
but then we are really drying
out. Those north winds will be gusting in the 40
to 50 mile an hour range, a high of 64, down to 47
tonight, and take off a few degrees.
That'll be your feels like. We're back to 65 with full
sunshine tomorrow afternoon still thinking
a lot of 40s low to mid 40s for sunday morning
high clouds will start to stream in but it's still going
to be a nice day notice the wind
direction changing more southeasterly
so closer to 70 for many of us on sunday and then we'll
start a warm-up the mornings are still very cool
and comfortable but afternoons getting a tad warm
with highs in the low to mid 80s going into the middle of next week
