The holidays are fastly approaching. Can't believe it. We're almost to holiday time in the Marine Corps Reserve. Toys for Tots campaign is kicking into high gear. Joining us now live, Kofay Anderson, who's headed to Arlington. You're mobile right now. You got a little friend with you. You're performing tonight in Arlington. Tell me what it's like to be a part of this great effort. I am so honored, Steve, to be a part of Toys for Tots. This is our way to give back locally. We all know there are great organizations out there nationally that are doing amazing things. This is for the people that live in our community, that are our neighbors. We go to our folks. This is for our kids. My daughter, Emery, is with me. We got her out of school early. Her and her dance team are going to be opening up for me and my band today. So it's a family affair, my man. There you go. And I'm sure Emily's happy to get out of school. Talk about making, what's her name again? I'm sorry. Emery. Emery. Emery. Talk about how it's important for kids her age to see and understand also that there are kids that are in need that may be her age. Seeing that at a young age, what do you think that does for young people? I think it broadens their perspective on the world when kids at a young age see other kids in need, that they can help. We've been helping since you were tiny from getting a car for a family that was walking. We've done a lot of things for a lot of families. And so it's kind of just the DNA of our family, for sure. But for her, I think it also kind of gets rid of the entitlement. It kind of gets rid of, this is what I deserve because I deserve it because I'm your kid. No, all kids are given the same place. A lot of us start the race at different places, for sure. And I know you've been a part of this. What do you get out of this effort? Of course, you're performing tonight, but you also are rooted in the community and invested in giving back. absolutely from box fan drives to jacket drives to toys for tots i love being a part i believe you should blossom where you're planted i've been so blessed with country music to live my dreams to retire my dad to get my mom a new gravestone and so i think giving back is a very very big deal to me i didn't have a christmas growing up we were we weren't in the best financial areas so for me to look at this and go you know what if we can help another kid get some toys great we're gonna do it we're gonna be a part of it everybody's here my other kids are setting up merch we're all gonna be a part of it we all have toys teddy bears yeah we're excited so invite everybody to come out Arlington Texas tonight at the Levitt Pavilion bring a toy if not just bring some money come be a part come join come watch your team dance from what's the name of your dance uh song the academy dance academy yeah so it's gonna be fun they've been rehearsing it they're ready steve Oh, man, I can't wait to see it.
