All right. Well, get ready to crack the windows
in the car at your house because the A.C. is going
to get a break here in just a little bit, Allison.
So give us the details on how the cold front
is moving along. Are we on track?
Oh, yes, we are. The front is probably right over
or just to the south of Houston.
The winds will be increasing a little bit behind it.
So even though you're waking up early and you're like, wait, wait,
wait, I thought I was going to get a pleasant walk this morning.
just know it'll be coming in a few hours
and you are going to get those awesome wake-up temperatures
Saturday, Sunday and Monday mornings, yes it continues
into early next week but the lowest or
best feeling most comfortable temperatures will
be Saturday afternoon highs in Houston low 70s
and Sunday morning Houston low 50s meaning most folks
who live north and west of Houston likely
waking up to the upper 40s so these are going
to be the most comfortable temps that we have felt
since May. But we've been talking about how
these winds are really going to be increasing.
And it's not just like, oh, it's kind of breezy out there.
No, it's windy. You got to make sure
that your Halloween decorations are down and in the ground ready,
held secure. Because if not,
they're going to be down the street.
We're talking gusts up to 40 miles per hour.
So with that, that's going to lead to seas
in the Gulf peaking at 7 to 12 feet, meaning
not a good weekend to go boating.
The winds and dry air, though, lower relative humidity values,
causing elevated fire weather conditions.
So we're not looking at any advisories like that,
but I would say if you don't have to burn anything, I wouldn't.
Our latest high-resolution
models show that some of these showers could
be getting a little bit closer to Houston
by 8, 9 a.m. They won't be lasting long by noon.
Most of it should be off the coast,
and then rain chances are out of here,
and it's all about the pleasant weather.
We see this front, it's cooling things down across the region,
waking up to the 50s in OKC, Panhandle, and in West Texas.
And highs today are only going to be peaking
in the 50s for most folks across the country.
I mean, for us along the Gulf Coast, yes, we're in the 70s,
but that's just because this front isn't super, super strong.
But let's time out the temperatures for you.
Pick the city that you're closest to.
Maybe you live near Conroe, near Sugar Land.
we will be in the 50s tomorrow morning okay temperatures
not rebounding much highs only in
the low 70s like we mentioned
and some of us peaking in the upper 60s by your Saturday afternoon
Sunday morning temps are going to be at their lowest
and then we're going to be seeing a slow
increase in those temperatures by next week
but overall we have three solid days of highs in the
70s in Houston and three solid mornings
of wake-up temperatures in the 50s so that does continue
through Monday morning.
But after that, yeah, temps are back on the rise, at least not the
widespread upper 90s that we saw earlier this week.
I mean, it's back to the seasonal 80s,
but humidity on the rise as well.
