Right. Talking about weather, though.
Yeah. No convertibles today, I think.
No.
I think at least for the most part.
Windshield wipers, maybe.
Windshield wipers, yeah.
Might get a little workout today, Hannah.
It's actually looking pretty nice out there out at the port.
That's our camera there, our Launch Credit
Union camera out at Port Canaveral.
Glancing eastbound, you can see
a Royal Caribbean ship there ready to go out,
hopefully on a nice vacation.
If you're joining the crew there for a trip,
hopefully you have a wonderful time.
But we are going to see more clouds today.
The wind going to start to pick up as this cold front swings
in and we are going to dodge those raindrops.
We are going to see hit or miss showers and thunderstorms.
Already have seen some rain out toward the Gulf Coast,
seeing some showers up closer to Ocala this morning.
The Nellon seeing some of that rain and all it's going to work
to the east southeast as this front continues to swing on through.
And as temperatures warm up a little bit, I do think we'll
have enough instability, at least for some storms at times.
But I would say overall, probably more showers
and downpours compared to the storms like we saw yesterday evening.
And those are now working into the Atlantic and to the northwest.
We're already starting to dry out.
But as this area of low pressure to our
north and east continues to develop,
that's what's really going to help crank
that wind in this pressure difference.
The pressure gradient between the high and the low really starts
to increase our wind through tonight into our Sunday.
If you're getting out to the Food and Wine Festival at Epcot,
probably smart to bring the rain gear and the poncho just
to be safe as we see those hit or miss showers and thunderstorms.
Temperatures topping out in the upper 70s to right around 80.
The plus is it will be cooler today, a lot cooler and less humid
compared to what we saw yesterday in Gainesville and Ocala.
Only topping out in the mid to upper 70s today,
but around 80 in Orlando, a little warmer to the south and east.
And that's where we have a slightly higher chance,
I think, of seeing some storms as the conditions
in the atmosphere can destabilize a bit further.
versus to the northwest where
that cold front comes through a little sooner.
Now, overnight, you can see areas to the northwest, the 50s on the map.
That's certainly hoody or light jacket weather,
I would say, around 63 in Leesburg,
mid-60s in Orlando, a little milder toward the coastline.
But it's certainly going to be a more fall-like night,
and that trend going to continue through the remainder of our weekend.
We'll see that here on future casts as we dry out.
The wind starts to come in from the
northwest with our Fox weather model.
But you can see a broken line of showers
and storms rumbling on through,
likely through 2, 3, 4 o'clock,
drying out through 6 or 7 through dinnertime,
and then through the overnight, quieter.
But you can see this onshore wind will keep
that threat of at least a few coastal showers
or a couple from time to time, mainly near the beaches,
but we can't rule out a sprinkle
or two around Orlando through our Sunday afternoon and evening.
But the wind will take center stage on our Sunday,
and Orlando gusts beyond 30 miles
per hour could potentially see a wind advisory get issued.
You will keep tabs on that,
but even higher gusts near the coast on Sunday.
And that's what's going to drive
the rip current risk into the high category.
And it's really going to be rough out there for boating as well.
You can see wave heights potentially beyond 10 feet,
especially just offshore.
So it's not going to be great to be swimming.
I know if you're a surfer, you probably live for this.
So if you're an experienced swimmer,
you're planning on getting out there, just be careful.
As you'll see, there's red flags flying high surf advisories up
and down the East Coast here,
not just today and tomorrow, but all the way through 4 a.m. on Tuesday.
And if you were thinking about boating,
you may want to think again, at least if you can do so.
You can see in the shade of lilac there, kind of the purple shading,
that's a gale warning with a small craft advisory down to the south.
We could have gusts up to 40 knots.
And remember, that's about 45 miles per hour
or so with those swells around 8 to 13 feet.
So it's not going to be wonderful to be out there on the boat.
Now, the one thing that will be nice,
we're expecting a nice fall-like feel on the muggy meter.
We are back down into the refreshing realm, the pleasant realm,
with the help of that northwesterly wind coming in,
north to northeasterly, northwesterly at times this week.
Either way, it's a drier wind,
a more refreshing wind that will keep things feeling comfy.
Now, our Fox 35 Storm Team 7-Day shows
rain chances still holding into Monday,
but we are expecting much drier conditions as high pressure holds
their midweek onward around 80 with overnight lows in the 50s and 60s.
