This is the most I've seen anyone against
the Texas team with us all going with the Jags,
pretty much except Clippy there,
and then only a couple selecting the Cowboys
against that Packers team.
Any standouts here?
What's really catching your eye?
Well, I think the only game that was in there
that I felt was kind of a no-brainer
was the Niners, as you can see all of us picking them there.
To me, that was the, quote, lock, if you will.
But really the toughest games for me,
and this is the case with any Falcons game,
I never know.
I'm serious. I have no idea. The NFC South.
And then here's the next example.
NFC South, Saints-Giants.
I think the spread on that was maybe one and a half.
I don't know what the Saints are.
I like to think I like Tyler Shuck and Kellen Moore,
but their record says otherwise.
The Giants don't look good, but they've got a winning record.
So it's just a weird pick with those two.
And then the weird one was Jags-Texans.
because I'm waiting for the Texans
to show us a glimpse of what was last year.
But then you're back in London.
The Jags have already been there.
That's supposed to be their home away from home.
So I wanted to give the travel advantage
and the comfortability to Jacksonville.
But if Houston goes and messes around and somehow pulls out a victory,
I guess I wouldn't be surprised.
I'm very curious what the addition
of Marvin Harrison Jr. does there, if anything.
But I still don't really have much faith in C.J. Stroud.
So that one stuck out to me.
Cowboys, I always want to pick the Cowboys just because.
But I think the defense has shown us enough
that they're just god-awful in the secondary.
And I believe Jordan Love and Matt LaFleur
and those wide receivers can take advantage of that.
But we know their offense is good, so if it becomes a track meet,
maybe the Cowboys can outlast them.
I don't know.
You know, I'll put this amendment out there.
We made the picks before the Lamar
Jackson news came getting rolled out.
I still feel confident rolling with Baltimore.
I agree.
So that was a little bit more
of a toss-up than I thought going into the morning
when I'm deciding on my picks.
I'm like, could Cleveland pull off a spot?
Because actually I'm starting to see
a little bit more life from Deshaun this season.
Munkin seems to have that offense going.
The defense isn't as bad as I thought it was going to be.
I agree.
Last week when they lost to the Jets,
it was just like an ugly weather game.
You mentioned the Niners being an easy pick.
There's part of my brain that wants to say,
okay, you just came off this big emotional victory against
your division rival Seattle.
You just saw Seattle lose on Thursday night football.
because the Niners coming
into that Monday night matchup a little bit headstrong
and maybe have an emotional letdown game.
Possibly it did seem they get Nick Bosa back this week,
so that could be a game changer.
Speaking of Seattle, I did want to touch
on that Thursday night game last night.
So I know obviously you're doing the newscast.
You're doing a lot of key-in internally on this one.
But what I will tell you that you missed
was one of the worst quarterback displays
between both teams that I had ever seen.
Because when I thought that Sam Darnold made
the most boneheaded move of the night,
Then Bo Nix comes in and says, no, no, no, no.
Wait, I got this one.
It was bad.
Hold my beer.
You watch the Bo Nix tape.
You just look at the highlights.
He has no desire to throw the ball downfield.
None.
None whatsoever.
And Sam Darnold, we saw Sam Darnold in New York.
We saw him for a little bit
with the Vikings and what that did with KOC.
I think last year he had a perfect situation with Seattle.
And we've seen how beneficial Kenneth Walker has been to the Chiefs.
Right.
Clearly they're missing him, and Sam Darnold
doesn't have that bell cow to take the ball.
But there is something seriously wrong with Bo Nix.
I mean, he is not throwing the ball downfield.
I think he's averaging less than five yards through the air.
I mean, he doesn't want to play the position.
So to me, there's a serious problem there.
And then you have something of the opposite nature
when you look at a team like the 49ers
where you've got a quarterback in Brock Purdy
who looks like everything's coming easy to him,
And then on the other side, you've got Bo Nix who just looks,
he doesn't look like he wants to be out there.
It's really weird.
In theory, Bo Nix should be a high-end Brock Purdy in terms of, like,
when you think about draft value,
you draft this guy in the first round.
Sean Payton said, I believe in this guy.
But like I said, with the just low IQ football moves,
you just can't, like, excuse that because the not throwing downfield,
that's one thing if he wants to be a check down merchant.
But doing things like running out
of bounds instead of just throwing the ball away,
losing three yards for your team.
Losing plays.
Or, yeah, losing or costing your team with the clock
and throwing an incompletion instead of making
the other team burn out their last time out.
Just doesn't make sense.
And I'm sure he's not getting coached at because,
again, he has high-level coaching.
And I guess Davis Webb, poor guy, has to be the scapegoat for this one.
But that seems to be what's going
on over there in the Denver situation.
Yeah, it's weird because I heard Mark
Slarett talking about it yesterday.
The former offensive lineman won Super Bowls
with John Elway and the Broncos.
And he's like, there are open plays.
Like Davis Webb and Sean Payton are drawing up open explosive plays,
but he's not doing anything about it.
So it's really weird.
But, yeah, out of all the picks there, 49ers I felt most confident.
But I always feel weird with any of the South teams.
I mean, NFC, AFC, South, I never know.
I hear you.
I never know.
Well, hey, going into the weekend for you and I, Giants Saints.
It's our Super Bowl.
We'll see.
Chasing you down.
The one's getting closer.
There you go.
I'm just saying, here are the footsteps.
