Gabrielle Dailman for Canada.
Just sensational.
Oh, makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.
I loved it.
She nailed it.
Right on the money.
No hesitation that that's how you do it.
Oh, yes, Gabby Dailman,
World Olympic medalist, national champion,
the Grand Prix of figure skating is back on CBC.
She's going to be competing at the stop in France.
She's joining us now.
Gabby, it is so great to see you again.
And you're back on the Grand Prix circuit
for the first time since 2022.
What does it mean to be back?
I am so excited to be back.
It was such a crazy four years with just
the nonstop injuries holding me back.
And there were times where I didn't think I'd even
be back on the Grand Prix ever.
So I'm just really grateful to get the chance to wear
the Canadian flag again on my back here in Canada.
Well, a lot of people also saw you back for the first time.
beginning of the year you were at nationals
and you got that silver medal what did that mean to
you what kind of motivation did that give you it meant the world to me
because it was a very
struggle big struggle um it was kind
of a crunch period you had nine months to re-walk skate get
in shape and like try to qualify so it was a lot
and it just not only proved myself but i think a
lot of people that it doesn't matter
the age it doesn't matter what you go through like if you
truly want to work hard you can achieve anything well
and here you are you are you've achieved
quite a bit and i'm guessing you want to achieve more what
are maybe some of the goals you've set
for yourself this season honestly the goals i set
for myself is to really enjoy the first half of
my season and be present back on the grand prixs
and doing all these internationals again which i'm
so fortunate to do and i think a lot of people know what
the second half of my season goals are
oh okay you're gonna keep those close to your chest
but i mean i need to know what they are
i mean we all know i love wearing gold
and nationals is back in my hometown i think between
families friends i have about i think the rough count
is like 46 people going nice so it'd be nice
to be back on the top of the podium um and just get
to represent canada at worlds and four continents
again. I love it. Love seeing you smiling again.
I love your confidence. Love that you're back.
Thanks so much for taking the time, Gabby.
Best of luck. Thank you so, so much for having me.
