June's All Day wine club

If you love discovering new wines, this segment, it's for you. June's All Day is celebrating 10 years of wine, and now you can bring that experience home with their All Day Wine Club. And joining me this morning is June herself. Yay. Thank you for coming in. Thanks for having me. Okay, so what is this program? The program is you should just drink more wine. It's our wine club, so essentially I love curating wines. My favorite thing is learning about guests and picking out really great wines. There's a theme every month, and it's not necessarily this month is Bordeaux, so it's regionality. But sometimes it can be personality-driven, wines made by women, natural wines. So I kind of send out an entire calendar for a year of the themes and then make the selections for you. Okay, beautiful. So the theme is Bordeaux this month. Yes. Walk me through what we've got right here. Okay, awesome. So we've got a three-pack and a six-pack option. So, you know, one for you or one for you and a friend or a party. We can make it happen. Those are just baselines. So we've got three packs. Those are $75. And then we have this six pack for $165. And honestly, three pack is great because it's kind of that discovery set. This is what Bordeaux is about. We've got a white wine. We've got two red wines. And then the differences of kind of the regions and the styles that we all know. And then for those six pack lovers, great for a party. But also, yeah, it takes it up a notch in curiosity. and quality level and kind of in depth, right? So lots of comparisons there. I think this is a cool way to learn more about wines if you really don't even know where to begin because you're an expert and you guide them through this. Basically, yeah. Yeah, pretty much. Okay, June's is off of South Congress, but people can pick up their wines, have it delivered, what's- Exactly, so it's on the third Thursday of every month is when the selections happen. You can go and pick them up starting Thursday, the third Thursday of every month, and then they can also be delivered for you. So direct to your door within the Austin Metroplex. Of course. We can reason you guys. Yes. Okay. So walk me through what we've got right here in these glasses. Okay. So this is actually our three pack. So the first wine, I love to change it up. You will find some that are all reds, all whites, all rosés. It really depends. Love the variety. Yes. But when it's the region, I kind of like to show the kind of classics of the region. So we've got a white wine from Chateau Margaux, and it is a white Bordeaux. And some people don't even realize there's a white Bordeaux in the world. I didn't really think that, I didn't know that was a thing. That's okay. Now you're gonna just have to drink more. You're educating me. Drinking more means knowing more. Yes. Yeah, so this is mostly a grape called Semillon. And a lot of people who actually think of white Bordeaux think it's usually Sauvignon Blanc. It kind of smells like a classic Sauvie B. It smells similar. Yes, it's just got a little bit of more roundedness and they're really great for either drinkability right away which is what these wines are most of the three pack wines are ready to pop i want you to enjoy them i think like you should have wines on a tuesday if you want or you could lay them down love it for you know special occasions it's your life it really is like let me curate for you and then you get to enjoy it how you wish exactly i get to like pick the things and hopefully i do the homework on what's good and then just get to enjoy them and learn a little bit more love yes So this is the white wine from Chateau Margaux It's 2024, so fresh, lively, and goes great with, I mean, kind of everything. A beautiful fall day, a summer day, but also lovely seafood, things like that. And then stepping into more seriousness, we've got two red wines. This is really what Bordeaux is all about. When I was first in wine, I saved all my pennies for all the expensive Bordeauxs, which was kind of like doing it wrong because then I made it super nerdy. And then like I fell in love with it, but it was so inaccessible. Okay. And now, you know, yeah, yeah, it was like, it was too, it was like my nose was too up in the air. Didn't like that. Now these are Bordeaux's that are fabulous. They are still classic and they're really accessible. That's great. Yes. So you've got the first one, which is the Cabernets This is mostly Merlot. So you got like people, you know, you know, the movie where people don't love Merlot. I mean, like, that's great. I don't know like this is why I think this is so cool you can educate people walk them through it and tell them like hey give this a try because sometimes you'll go to the wine shop and be like I'm overwhelmed exactly I don't know what to pick yeah and it's really about finding someone that you trust yes and hopefully that person that you trust is really nice very open I like to just say what do you usually like to drink and then from there we decide like are you having it out yeah Yeah, we'll figure it out. You can even say like, so I hate pickles. Okay. Right, and so if you're like, I hate pickles, I'm like, all right, I got a couple wines that you should stay away from. Never would have. Yeah. You're like, or I love eating stews, meats, it's cold, what's gonna be good with that? Just give me some context in some way. Give her an inch, she'll go a mile. Exactly, exactly. Okay, real quick on the last one. Oh, and the last one is mostly Cabernet. So this is basically what everybody knows. This is Bordeaux Superior, it's Cabernet, it's perfect for this turn in weather, it's the best. Yes. And when you smell it, you should smell something that you're like, I know this smell. This is woodsy, this is plummy, this is cassis. Cozy. Yeah, it's like the leaves are turning colors and I'm gonna have some lamb or steak with it. Just hang out. Exactly. Love it. Exactly.
