‘Outrageous intervention’: Obama torn into for his take on Ilhan Omar raid

Former Margaret Thatcher adviser Nile Gardiner says former US president Barack Obama’s post to X criticising the raid on Democratic Congresswoman Ilhan Omar is an "outrageous intervention”.

“He should know better… than weighing in on a legal matter like this. It does show you how the left will always close ranks around each other, regardless of the seriousness of the charges, and the charges being laid against Ilhan Omar are extremely serious,” Mr Gardiner told News24 host Samara Gill.

“Immigration fraud is an incredibly serious crime, and the usual penalty is up to five years in a federal prison and deportation.”
