Okay, ready? Three, two, Jason show replacement host.
Take one, photographer Eric.
You know, guys, I actually don't know anything about the housewives.
Take two, executive producer Jeff.
Welcome to the... I can't be that perky.
Producer Bjorn.
Okay, picture it. All Lady Gaga news, all hour long.
Here we go.
That's negative.
And
right
now,
Jason
Matheson,
or
Jeff,
or
Eric,
or
Bjorn.
And we finally, we arrived here.
We got real to the bottom.
We arrived here, right?
So right now, I'm filling,
because I was filling in for the person who fills in when they fill in.
That's the, that's what I'm doing.
My name is Erin Schwab.
I'm usually the, the audience rouser, audience coordinator.
But today, I'm sitting here with my awesome friend, Stephanie Henson.
winning a host of...
Sunny,
tell me about your weekend.
We flew in from a trip
that we got home at 3.30
in the afternoon and by 6 o'clock
we were in the car
on the way to the Mall of America Radisson Blue
and it was the Emmy Awards and it was really fun.
I brought my husband for the first time
and he had a really nice tuxedo
on but under his vest
his pants had a rubber band holding
them together because they were too small
but you couldn't see that part.
but yeah we had a really really good time that's amazing yeah
and the show won three awards i only
held up two that's right why don't you tell
the people where they can see taste buds so that they
know uh that's always you can watch it on saturday at 8 30 on fox 9
then you can watch it on youtube
it's on tubi and then we're in i think 104 other markets many
of which are around the country
watching the jason show too
and it's just a fun food show right yeah anytime a gal can wear a
hairnet that's a hot piece of television right there I like a hairnet
and a paper jacket yes we
won um we won for an episode that we did about cheese
and we won for pizza and also which is
hilarious one of the episodes that we won for is I'm
in the um ballpark at the Twins Arena and the
St. Paul Saints and my daughter
and i made the weirdest food i've ever made on the show
where we cut little hot dogs and made them into squid oh
and you you put them in the air fryer
and the tentacles curl up
and they look real cute they're super fun for kids but it was the
weirdest thing we ever made on the show
and i did the entire show in a hot dog costume
so that one and you won an Emmy i did i did i did why didn't i wear
a hot dog costume today hot dog
costumes are always award winners i think
so hot dog costume hairnet paper jacket yes any type of
any conversation about cheese yes you're you're
a solid winner that's awesome well congratulations
everybody congratulations to Stephanie for that yep yeah
and also you just got back from a trip
you said so where was your trip okay so we went to Italy
and while we were there i know people
we went i went to Capri and i've been to Capri once before
and i didn't love it because it was
so crowded so I wasn't sure if I was gonna like it
but here's what happens in Capri there's 20,000
people that come and spend the day
but they leave at five o'clock so once they leave the whole town
clears out and it's like this place of wonder
and magic that was gorgeous I loved it I would
definitely go back there
but I will say I did not eat a meal that was less than $200 it was so
expensive i'd like one day
but the bucatini was like stuffed with dollar bills no i kept waiting
for the waiter to like give me something like
a little surprise gift no it was one day we had
pizza pasta a beer and a wine and it was 200
and they said here's this and also let me give you
this diamond ring and i wanted the diamond ring i didn't get it i'm
so sorry i know but you can't
feel sorry for me i mean i was i don't feel sorry
for you at all actually i was just here in
Minnesota. Thank you. Just living my best life
in the fall with my allergies. I went and saw a
college production of a show called Puffs. Wow.
That's a fun game. And then, so it was very
similar. And then I ate Domino's pizza,
which is very similar, I'm sure, to what you ate in Capri.
Very similar to pizza in Capri. For sure, for sure.
I'm still recovering from vertigo. Nobody
worry about me. I'll be fine. If you tip over, I'll catch you.
It was very nerve-wracking, but
If I was in Capri and had vertigo, it would be so much more fun.
Do you know when you get there, it's like way up on the hill,
and you have to take like a funicular up, but the line was so long.
A whatchular?
A funicular.
A funicular?
It's like a little gondola or a cart that brings you to the top.
That sounds like something that they take out of you in a surgery.
It does.
It does.
Excuse me, let's remove your funicular.
That's what I had done when I went to the hospital for vertigo.
They were like, you're better now.
No more funicular.
you can remove it no the line was so long
and we were so impatient yes that we were like well
we'll just walk like we can walk oh boy
with our luggage we walked up the hill in the island of
Capri which if you've ever been there you know
that's why they have a funicular it was like
a mile straight up hill as much as possible we
were just i was i was the more you say funicular
the weirder it sounds just let's all try it
together funicular now say it again funicular
like the more you say it the more it sounds like something's wrong
with my inner ear i don't know
it sounds like it could be something in your inner ear
but it's just a little cart that brings you to
the top so we thought you know we're in shape
and we're just gonna walk this with our 100 pounds of
luggage wow that was a bad idea was it just the two of you yes
but still like i don't know we
had to stop numerous times we would have killed
each other halfway up yes we had my husband and
i would have killed each other he would have had
to carry all the luggage yes yes kurt tried to
help me carry the luggage but i was mad i
was like i'll just do it i'll just do it it is it we by the
time we got to the top we were exhausted we needed like
a liter of water and we had we were profusely
sweating and sat down and had an eighteen dollar glass of wine
but it was it was fun we'll never do that again
fun yeah it was fun we had
a really good time it's fun too we played cards we always bring cards
when we travel in Europe
which now I sound like a real bougie lady we always bring cards
we get on our funicular in Capri sorry about us we got back
a few hours beforehand and my husband
couldn't button his pants anymore you know
because because of it we ate so much pasta
no you everything nobody feels bad about this at all you guys
but everything there is a four-hour
affair like every meal so we bring cards because I'm
so anxious by the time we even order so yeah
people don't feel sorry for me but we played a lot of cards
so for four hours you just had to
sit in Capri and just wait for your meal
and drink wine that's just a heart heartbreaking
it's a heartbreaking situation I sound like
a real bougie lady that's why Jason and I get along
though because he's got bougie tastes I like it I I like
to think that I could be bougie you can
just come and travel with me okay we'll take care
of you can we please film that that's like a whole
new I Love Lucy that no one's ever seen it's gonna
be just me being like this where we go now
yes let's find is there a coupon book for the Capri
a coupon for Capri they had really fancy
stores there it was fancy the whole thing was fancy
but it was very fun but I'm glad to be
home I you know I was glad that all the trees weren't uh off the leaves
and my husband's car
had 200 walnuts in it from the squirrels like you do yeah
and on that note after talking about
her husband's nuts we're
gonna be right back
not Jason Matheson Jason
is sick and we are wishing
him the best recovery and quickest easiest right
um but for now yeah you guys can clap for that
at home please be clapping right uh
so Jason uh from Stephanie and I we wish you the best
and now it's time for the hot dish oh thank you
clappers okay first today the unexpected hit
at the box office uh this is the documentary
here comes you can see everything is you can
see everything is expanding to more theaters
this week following its debut last weekend
playing in just 855 theaters the movie managed
to earn more than 15 million dollars it's the
second biggest opening ever for a documentary
the much talked about film was made in secret
the past three years following Elizabeth Holmes
as she prepares to head to prison following a
conviction of fraud involving her company Theranos i have
so many questions i mean so many questions
about this hit me with the questions okay first
of all apparently her like husband has like a full
frontal nudity shot like did you not know the cameras were there
also you're getting ready to
go to prison you have two children
and you have these two men living in your house with you
apparently there's also a lot of very long staring scenes
and she has these very piercing eyes that
make you feel like she's gonna see through you i just have
so many questions about like
why we got to this place why we're still obsessed
with this woman why we're still talking about her
and yet i am still talking about her and i want to go see the movie
because she just says our city
yeah it is yeah and in fact it was sold out there
were only seats in the front row on friday's
premiere oh my gosh yeah i i think this is just like
a inside look into the lens of a person that
is really hard to understand would you ever invite somebody to come
and live in your house and film
you and your husband for three years um people
would hate us that's what it is right that's good
tv the movie is earning praise from fans and critics
and tons of oscar buzz if it wins an oscar
that'll be just crazy because she's
apparently launching this company again
from the ashes of the fraud. So I don't know.
Apparently her husband, yes.
Like you do, right? All right, next.
If you need a good laugh this week, get ready.
The hilarious Martin Short is the guest
on Conan O'Brien's podcast this week. And right
off the bat, Martin started roasting Conan. Let's watch.
And I kept looking at you and thinking,
it's almost like I was seeing you in a new light
Because that night, I thought,
he looks like the love child between Lurch and Kathy Griffin.
And I don't often feel that about people.
Because you're very, you know, you're pale.
You're very pale.
You look like a Q-tip with ketchup on it.
No, I'm white.
You look like a human surrender.
Yes.
No, it's a miracle whenever you're here.
In what way?
Well, you've reached a certain age where I'm shocked when you show up.
It's incredible.
Meanwhile, you look like Ed Sheeran in a funhouse mirror.
You're a hot one to talk.
That's great.
I love a good roast.
Conan says his team loves seeing him get roasted.
You can watch the full interview on YouTube
or listen wherever you get your podcasts.
podcasts i i love martin short so much
and i always have i think everything he does is like
gold it's amazing and i don't know if it's also
because i'm like a short funny person so i'm like
drawn to other short funny people i can see
that i love his comedy i love how he and i would love
to be able to roast people i get very nervous
about it oh yeah like if you were like roast me
i'd be like look at you stephanie
with your glasses right you guys like that's that's what
would be able to do oh my god what
a pleasing texture your velour jumpsuit is from 1972
like it's not there's nothing I can do they had that Jeff
and Jason chemistry that is in the car
of the fast food field trip that it's like
so uncomfortable but also hilariously funny
I'm going to see him with Steve Martin at the end of this month I'm
so jealous yeah and Steve
Martin plays the banjo I don't know if you know
that he's apparently a great musician he wrote a
musical oh that's cool he did he wrote a musical
with Edie Brickell oh what happened to her she
married paul simon and you never heard
from her again she wrote a musical okay she really is
living her best life because they have more money
than god ever has okay i'm gonna have to look that
up just saying all right next in the dish it's
been five years now since ken jennings replaced
the late alex trebek as host of jeopardy ken was first
a contestant on the show earning the longest
winning streak ever i don't know if you remember
that he was picked to host starting in 2021 but
what would happen if Ken was sick
for the day kind of like the Jason show today
who would come in all right
so it would be me ha ha during an audience Q and A Ken revealed his
picks for fill-in host watch this if i go out for a day well you know
who has a lot of Jeopardy
hosting experience is Jeff Probst,
who hosted Rock and Roll Jeopardy back before he was Jeff
Probst. I mean, he now hosts three seasons of Survivor a year,
I think, so the guy's probably
busy. Also, RuPaul, I think, would be pretty good.
I would cherish seeing RuPaul host Jeopardy.
I would take it. I would snuggle it at night and sleep with it.
It would make me so happy.
I feel remiss if we don't mention Jason Matheson would
be an excellent Jeopardy host.
from the time i met him i have been convinced
that his next career is as game show host because
he's so good at hosting suck up yeah i think he'd
be a great game show host he's funny he's witty
he's smart he is sort of professorial he keeps it moving along
no he could host anything he would
make anything interesting hosting it suck up
but also i believe it's true like we actually believe
it's true also is jason's voice is sort of like
that buttery like warm yes thing you know but i
would love to hear RuPaul do some ask some really deep questions
also uh RuPaul's very very smart
so don't underestimate that wouldn't we like to see a woman
though too like can't you imagine
Ina Garten she's like a super smart brilliant woman
that would be good that yeah or uh who
else would be funny Amy Poehler yes
also a good pick yeah I would love that what if Amy
Poehler and Tina Fey hosted it together
then it would be the Academy Awards has anyone thought
about us has anybody thought about Erin
and Stephanie hosting it i don't know i don't know
i'm really good at kids jeopardy that's
the only one i could host next what could be one of the
cringiest moments on reality tv warning listen warning warning
this is a spoiler for early
episodes of netflix love is blind
so if you're watching that watch out plug your ears meet Jax
and Stu oh they fell in love
in the pods without seeing each other got engaged and finally met
But after meeting, Jax had second thoughts.
Watch.
You're not really what I was expecting, but it makes sense.
Do you know the guy's nickname for me on the other side?
No.
They all call me Kennedy.
Oh, my God.
Jackie Kennedy, baby.
Please.
More like Mitt Romney.
Mitt Romney.
Oh, my God.
I don't want to be me.
So, Jax has just informed us
that she does not want to go to Mexico.
Really?
She asked to go home immediately.
Is this true?
Yeah.
Really?
We offered her the opportunity to sit down and talk with you.
Okay.
Declined.
So are we still engaged or did she dump me?
That's really
for you
to figure out.
asking the questions he was like
so she left yes really yes
are we still engaged no himself in his
kennediness that he was like how could anyone how could anyone choose
to leave me at it what i'm so
glad she left i am so glad she left
because watching that show if she would not have we
all would have been like this girl come on where's
your what are you doing schwab she humiliated him
on national television that's not very nice even
if he's creepy she got that far with him she
didn't have to pick him he was fine you are you
are a healing light right now for all of us in
america watching love is blind i mean
if you're watching love is blind to begin with that show
is the worst i'm just gonna say it's like you
are hate watching it you feel dirty when you're
watching it you need to take a shower
when it's over that's how i feel about love is blind i mean
if you put yourself on the show,
you kind of know what's going to happen, right? You would think.
Oh, yeah. Next up, the World Series.
I just quickly cut away from that. Yeah, you know. I was like,
love is blind. Moving on. Boom.
Next, the World Series begins this week, but a different type of
baseball is becoming almost more popular than the pros.
Banana ball. I don't know if you guys know
what banana ball is. It's the Savannah Bananas and other teams.
They're selling out stadiums
across the country and now a new movie is telling
their story watch banana ball now has six teams
competing for the first banana ball championship we're gonna put
on the biggest performance we've
ever done and is it going to work stadium audio disaster yes don't film
and that was bad
all right banana film take one
you only get one shot and you gotta seize it
I almost quit a game
that I fell in love with.
And I'm just so thankful for this opportunity.
They're not making fun of our game.
They're making our game fun.
A magical
dream.
Banana ball to find us.
The League on their summer tour and features
original music from the guys behind
The Greatest Showman and Dear Evan Hansen.
And it comes out next summer.
Yeah, Pasek and Paul writing music for this.
This is great.
it feels joyful yes i love first of all i love documentaries i
also love um anything that brings
us this much light and joy right now
in a time where it feels like we just need to sort of just
bathe ourselves daily in fun joyful like back
to what is like the most simple if you combine
baseball and funny and music and it's great it's
so fun and our floor director thomas is he has
worked with them uh numerous times
and says they are literally as kind and as nice as as what they
are which that means something i think right all

Chris Pratt is out promoting season two of his TV show, Terminal List.
It's called The Terminal List on Prime Video.
It turns out he almost had a different name.
Chris explained last night on The Tonight Show.
Check it out.
The backstories, I was discovered at a restaurant
in Maui called the Bubba Gump Shrimp Company.
Oh, yeah.
A waiter came in, or a director came in.
I was waiting tables and gave me an audition, and that changed my life.
And I had a name tag that I'd written Christopher on, and
there's only like a middle part where it doesn't rub off.
And the Sharpie on the outside rubbed off
and over time it just said Christo.
And so at Bubba Gump, everyone thought my name was Christo.
And so everyone called me Christo, hey Christo, Christo.
And I was like, that's kind of fire.
I think I'm gonna go with just Christo.
Mono name, like Madonna or something.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, Christo.
It was almost, you were almost Christo.
I really considered it.
Christo, okay, two things.
Have you, so we have both worked in restaurants.
Yes.
Yes, did you ever go under a pseudonym, or were you always Stephanie?
No, of course I did, because I worked at a place that was like
a 1950s bar where we had flair, and I was Pippi.
But also, you know that we both worked, Stephanie
and I both worked at the same restaurant, not at the same time.
We did.
I was a host and she was a server, and so I knew all
of the the Adams Family, happy birthday
all the songs on the tables we had to dance
on the tables wear roller skates thank you
and on the trip i was just on the lady pam
who worked with us was with us as well
really yes so i got to reconnect with pam
and talk about she said they called me the hair bear
behind my back hair bear i've seen photos
of you you had the big 80s big 80s hair i know it was
fun do you have like terrible were you
do you ever had did you have like a terrible restaurant story
ever from working there oh of course
but i ultimately met my husband there so it's pretty
good memories i did get dumped though
also there for the very first time by your husband no prior
to him by a guy that had a mustache that smelled like cigarettes
and beer so you know i literally
i worked at the very classy ground round i don't know
if you're familiar with the ground round but
i worked at the very classy ground round
by the airport quick story went up uh served a man a
burger and fries you leave you're supposed
to go back like three bites you go back and check and
make sure it's okay three bites went back to check
and i was like this oh it's gone everything on the
plate is gone and i was literally like gone came back
and i was like dude you better be careful
you're gonna chew off your fingers you eat that fast
and he held up his hand like this
and he was missing two fingers
it was like this cool cool cool he was very funny he laughed
and laughed he thought it was hilarious
was he a shop teacher i don't know what happened he did
not have no fingers right here
i was like i love you too man
that's what i said i love you too all right jim good story jimmy jokes
that the name sounds more like a magician than
an actor a crystal right i love it all right next
from dakota johnson to lily collins
and Zoe Kravitz, we've seen the rise of countless so-called
nepo babies in Hollywood, but one legendary star says he sees
no problem with that, no problem with
that actor Sylvester Stallone is being accused
of nepotism for casting one of his daughters
in his TV show, Scarlett Stallone is taking
on a bigger role for season four in a new way, in a new
interview, Sly is—he's defending
the nepotism. Okay, he tells USA Today, quote: "You're not a good parent
if you haven't performed a little nepotism." Sly says every parent wants
the best for their children
and most parents use any advantage
to help them succeed. Now we both have kids, yes, we both have
daughters. My daughter's
been on my show Taste Buds, she's actually—she adds a lot when she's on
she's fun, yeah. And my daughter is also a musical theater actor
and I've cast—I've had to cast Sophie
in shows, but it's—it's interesting, I've heard lots
of people speak about this nepo baby situation
um, and it really is, it's—I think
for some people they you would use any advantage that you have to
open a door. The thing is, I always say is I can open the door for Sophie
but Sophie has to walk
through and show up and show what they
do, and so that's like the big thing that I always told her
I was like I can open a door for you
but once you get through that door, you better take care, you
better take care of it. Did you ever watch
the Stallone reality show where they had all the
kids on it? I didn't, it—it wasn't the best
so I'm hoping that her experience of the door being open
helps her become a success. Super cool
that's really great, that's a positive note to end
Sylvester Stallone thing, thank you, thank you
so much, all right, next up, Halloween is next weekend and one
legendary TV stars reminding fans
of her character's costume, this is so great, her
character's costume from the 70s, most
of us remember Melissa Gilbert playing Laura Ingalls on
the TV series on NBC in the 70s
and early 80s, one of my favorite programs, just so you know
But do you remember the Laura Ingalls Wilder Halloween costume?
Gilbert herself shared a photo on Instagram recently
saying she feels flattered and horrified at the same time
Oh my, what is happening up there?
Okay, Melissa jokingly wondered if Lou Ferrigno was her birth father
because it resembles the Hulk costume as well
did you ever have one of these costumes
when you were growing up, we're about the same age
it's like a cross between Mrs. Garrett
and the Hulk, it's terrible, remember the masks and how
they were like so thin and weird
and they had the weird eye holes, they were dangerous, you couldn't
see, yeah, and then like you just had
the elastic strap strapped around your head, also we went
trick-or-treating here in Minnesota, so in Minnesota it's cold
so you'd also have that up against your
face and be breathing into it
and it was just this like hot wet inside of us, it was just awful
I did have, the only time my mom didn't make
my costume was when I was Casper the Friendly Ghost
thank you i had a casper the friendly ghost face
that i sweated into and i never did it again yeah
that's funny i love it did you have
were your halloween costumes did your mom make them or did
you buy them no we had to like scrounge around the house
and make something out of nothing
we went as hobos we went as you can't say hobo
that's not you can't say hobos anymore how about
housewife can you say that because i would wear
my mom's robe with curlers and slippers oh yeah
we were poor that's a very different housewife than what we think
of when we say housewife
dressing up like a housewife now i love
that all right we have much more to come today please stay
tuned we'll be right back
and this is stephanie
hansen stephanie stephanie
is our foodie queen
our foodie expert right so we mentioned this story yesterday
and we want to talk to you about
some foodie things number one
is the dinner party decline can we talk about dinner parties for a
little bit we can it's so sad uh uh research says
that dinner parties are just not happening like
they used to right there's been a 30 percent drop from the 70s to today
and the reasons include the
cost which i feel like that's weird we can talk about
that smaller friend groups and being too
connected to our phone what do you think about what
do you think about the decline of the dinner
party i think that it has
to do with people getting too freaked out about like what the
party needs to be like you see all these instagram tablescapes
that are so glorious and so gorgeous
and beautiful but nobody expects to come to your house
and see like a little pumpkin at every table
for your pumpkin soup and you know I think people
just make it harder than it needs to be and part
of the joy of entertaining is just the gathering
so just do potlucks like that's so easy I feel
like people are missing out if they're
not entertaining I entertain a lot I really believe
in it I think it's super fun I think it is too
also I have recently had two experiences where
my one of my best girlfriends her aunt just recently passed away
and she literally has a
binder full of every every dinner party every
progressive dinner they had a progressive dinner
group because you know what a progressive dinner is yeah
can you explain what a progressive dinner is to
the people it is it can be a couple things it can
be where you go to different houses and each person
makes a course or you can have it at one house
but each person makes a course there's a lot of
different ways to do it I'm part of two supper clubs I love
that so they she literally had a
record of all those things but I
also think to add to the list I also think that like how we
have community has changed completely
and so like their progressive dinner group was like their
church friends or they were like friends they went
to high school with church friends and friends
they went to high school with all of which were combined
and I also know people like their church
choirs or their like neighborhood their neighbors like
do you know all the neighbors in your
neighborhood there's so many things that are that are like
that that are missing now because we
don't get to know our neighbors we don't step out
and do things like that as a community anymore
that I feel like that's part of it I
do I have dinner parties once a month and I invite people
I don't know I have never
been invited I know it's true I invite people in the food space that
I don't know that I find on Instagram that I think would be interesting
and I invite them to my house
for dinner and I have a table of 10 also someday me
so I feel like it's gonna be you can come
a break shall we well it's
a good thing right when
the days turn colder
and shorter it's time
to bring out the slow cooker stephanie has another recipe
for Crocktober, right? We're still
cranking around the clock, it's only October 20th
you're like, aren't we done with Crocktober yet?
no friend, we've got like 11 more days, I am, I
am here for everything that's cooked in a, yes so
hit me up, okay? I will eat whatever you make
and I will joyfully, I will devour it, you are
going to joyfully... what are we making today? Talk
to me about it. Today we are making, this is a new
recipe for me, it's a sausage tortellini soup, okay
and when I was on before, I talked about these
Crock-Pot liners, okay? This is our friend Betsy, she
was on our show Taste Buds, and you put the
paper liner inside it, it's Load of Crock is the name of it
and it keeps everything in here and
then you just lift it out when you clean it, that's lovely
and it works for like soups too, which I
think is crazy, so we're gonna just get
our crock filled, I'm ready, okay? Dump it in, let's go. First
of all, you're gonna brown some Italian sausage, now
the thing... wait, can I ask you a question? Because
you have the paper in there how do you brown it
with the paper there, okay? So you brown it on the
oven, okay? Don't brown it in the crock, okay? Don't... they're laughing
at me now, they're mocking me, yeah
but I, I think that's worthy, okay? Thank you for that, well
however, thank you, thank you, if you have
a instant pot that also doubles as a slow cooker
this is then you use the sauté setting so that's
one of the reasons why i love my instant pot
because you really it's one pan almost all the
time great okay so we browned our sausage we're going
to add just some onions these onions smell
so odiferous that my whole
car smells like onions now fancy word of difference very scented okay
we're also going to add sweet potato
because why just have carrots when you can have sweet potato
too carrots okay and you want everything to be cut
a little bit chunkier because when you make
it in the crock pot you want the vegetables to be larger
so they don't get super mushy
we're going to add about a tablespoon ain't nobody got time
for that of italian seasoning
okay okay do you ever wonder what
is an italian seasoning like why don't we have
i don't know american seasoning
or japanese seasoning you know what i mean like why
i think they do have japanese seasoning
but it's called something else okay we're gonna put garlic
in there i i have wondered to myself what was in it
and then i looked isn't it just like oregano
and bay leaf and it's like oregano and basil
and thyme and all the different things all
mushed together in a in one spice okay now we're adding salt now here's
the part that you got to
keep your eyes peeled are you ready yeah okay
this is our tomato sauce 14 ounce can i see that for
a second are you ready for part two
that doesn't look like tomato sauce at all you guys you guys
i left the can on the counter perfect i always forget something
and today i was rushing to get
here because I knew we were covering for Jace.
So we're using our imagination. Here it is, tomato
sauce. How good is your imagination?
My imagination is so good. Okay, because we also need a can of
diced tomatoes too. Oh, let me taste one of those.
Thank you. Oh, sweet and kind of juicy. Love it.
I sure did. Great. Are those fresh or are they canned?
Canned tomatoes. Oh, you canned the
tomato canned and diced juicy thank you oh erin you
do that very well i'm an actor i've learned how
to do space work then we're gonna add
our broth okay okay four cups yeah what kind of broth is
that two cups of water chicken oh chicken broth okay
so assuming you had all the tomatoey things
in there that's it yeah everything is good now you let
that crock overnight okay or you do it
for like six hours can you over crock yeah
because you can make it so everything gets mushy
sure but it would still taste good over crocking
because there's just no consistency everything
it just turns into a ball of smoosh yes cool
do you want to switch spots i think cool cool here
we go okay so imagine now
that we've crocked four hours let's take it right and here's how you
finish this yeah you add oh uh two cups of greens i'm using kale
but you could use spinach just so
guys know there's really kale there that's
not using my imagination that happened okay now we
have tortellini the cheese tortellini okay
and we're gonna put those in okay cool cool and you
can buy did you get those in capri
and bring them back no but it was a good question four thousand
dollar bag of kale no that's exactly how much they would
be too you can use dried and they have
them stuffed with cheese you can use those okay you can use fresh
which is the ones that i'm using
and i'm only going to cook this for about 15 minutes uh 20 minutes
because i'm using the fresh
and then you just want to add a little bit of cream oh okay
so like a half a cup whipping
love that yep and you could use milk
if you wanted to but i always like to use cream
okay so that is it this is our whole delicious
situation we're just going to stir it up here
great now you would finish cooking this for another 30 minutes just
because you want to get
the greens broken down you want to give the pasta
do you have to massage the greens before you put them in
not in this particular recipe
but a lot of times you do when you're cooking with kale
yeah when you massage it you break up the cell wall
and it makes it a lot more tender so that
is a real thing to massage kale yeah yes
is that why i don't like kale probably because it hasn't
been massaged before i ate well
and there's different kinds like if you get the garnish
that's on your plate yeah with the little wedge
of cantaloupe that's usually should i massage it no
okay i'm just checking in don't massage that kale
that's usually not the most delicious kind of kale
there's another type of kale that is a dinosaur kale
that's a little bit thinner and doesn't need
as much massaging so just try a little we can try a little bit
and also while we try that i'm going
to actually wrap it up we can talk about
this a little bit more on the other side i bet right
