While one athlete finds success through exhaustive repetition, the other achieves better results by focusing on specific drills and maintaining physical well-being.
Someone like Jackson, who I'm sure you know, he's a workhorse.
That dude hits more balls and putts
more putts than I've seen anyone do.
Okay, so it's not a surprise to you
that he's reached this level of success.
There's behind closed doors, and when he works,
he was working harder than anybody else?
Yes, but I also think it's because it's what works for him.
Yeah.
Like, that makes him tick.
Like, if he hits 200 balls and putts for two and a half hours,
even if he's doing it while his hands are bleeding,
he's like yeah i'm getting better whereas
if my hands stop bleeding i'm like i'm gonna go stick
him in a cold tub or something
and so the way my brain works is if i take care of my body and make
sure that i'm physically where i need
to be and then you know i'm very fast paced from all the
different sports i grew up playing if i get
in there get my three hours three and a half hours
of work in but it's very goal orientated like okay finish
this drill make this amount of putts
do this and once i'm done i'm done
and i kind of found that the spring of my freshman year
and started seeing results a lot quicker
and started being able to take it from practice
to the golf course a lot quicker as well
um and then we played two events in a row where
it was that was our qualifying it was our home event
and we took like nine people to the next
event.
