AI GeneratedFox 13 features MF Barbecue (Mac Family Barbecue), a family-run food truck operated by a mother-daughter duo and their husband. The segment highlights their diverse BBQ menu, their growth within the community over three years, and an upcoming community-focused Halloween event.
We are food trucking again at Fox 13.
Linda, what is my favorite food group of all?
Barbecue.
Yes.
And so we are in heaven on this Tuesday.
We've got a returning guest,
one of our best truck names too, MF Barbecue,
which stands for Mac Family, Mac Family Barbecue.
This is Michelle, Ashley, mother-daughter duo.
Got the husband in the truck doing the Lord's work in there.
They have decorated for Halloween too.
They decorated for Halloween.
Look at these decorations here.
Got all kinds of decor, an elephant skeleton.
I really wish people at home could smell how good it smells right now.
This is one of our favorite trucks that's ever come.
I mean, look at this spread.
Michelle, let's not waste any time.
Tell us what Barry is looking at with the camera here.
I'll try to get my shadow out of the way.
All right, we're looking at Texas Twinkies, chopped brisket,
sliced brisket, Texas toast, mac and cheese, baked beans.
Okay, wait, before we move on,
we've got to know what a Texas Twinkie is.
It's bacon-wrapped what?
It's a jalapeno that's been cleaned of the seeds
and the membranes filled with cream cheese wrapped in bacon and smoked.
Wow, I knew that was you. You want me
to hold the mic while you eat that?
No, I can do this with one hand. This is going in my mouth right now.
I knew you would like that. Is that one of the favorites?
Oh my goodness. Look at that. See the cream cheese?
See the jalapeno? You know, not very spicy though.
No.
You would eat this one. You would like this one.
Well, I know I will eat this. What
is the secret to your mac and cheese?
That is white aged Vermont cheddar.
Hmm, let's see.
Oh my goodness, I did not have lunch today
and I was waiting just for this.
Yeah, perfect.
I did the same thing when I heard you guys were coming.
Honestly, you guys have had this truck for three years now.
Has it gone by fast?
It definitely has.
And the more that we learn
and the more that things change for us,
like we get more and more excited
because you just come up with more and more ideas
and get more involved with the community.
It's gotta be hard though, doing this day in, day out.
How do you keep it fresh?
How do you keep new people coming to you guys?
How do you not eat the food every single day?
We still do, surprisingly, but honestly,
just the different people that we meet and
word of mouth, like so many new people have come and visited us.
I work at the hospital, so I have people that are trying it there.
I've had people that have recognized me and they're like,
your parents own the food truck.
You guys own the food truck.
And so it's been really cool just to be recognized in the community
and for people to actually
kind of remember and to kind of make that impact on everybody.
What's the favorite?
What is the one that people buy the most of?
Come back for seconds.
Tell their kids about.
That's a hard one, cuz at the beginning it was pulled pork,
now they want it all.
They've tried the different kinds, so I think it's the brisket.
The brisket.
I was freeing you up to eat, Chris, I was freeing you up to eat.
Look at this brisket.
That looks yummy, I'm gonna have to try that too.
This is gummy candy, I guarantee you.
Well, he's eating, where can people find you
in case they wanna book you?
So we're normally located
at the Floor Master parking lot over off of
Balm Riverview and Riverview.
We do events on request and we do catering as well.
All right, tag team, I gotta try that too.
Tell me about these ribs.
My gosh, go ahead, go ahead, tell, tell, tell.
The ribs can speak for themselves.
I don't know, take a bite and you tell me.
Amazing.
Aaron, you gotta come try these ribs.
If they don't fall off the bone and then it's not barbecue.
My God. Look, we didn't have to tell Aaron twice,
come on.
Is this pork?
Yes, yes it is.
That is pork, all right.
That's incredible.
Listen, you guys are getting a high-five from Chris, for sure.
Where does Aaron start?
All right, here we go.
Start with the brisket.
Here we go.
A live taste test, yeah.
I'm going to taste it, too, Aaron.
By the way, Aaron's a vegetarian, but
we're converting him to a vegetarian.
I'm not a vegetarian.
Oh, my goodness.
Let's do this together.
Oh, it's delicious.
That is really good.
Aaron walked in at the perfect time.
That is exactly what I was about to say.
He did this on purpose.
He knew we were out here.
He smelled it from the parking lot.
Yeah.
I'm like, that's incredible. I give them a 10.
Big Halloween event coming up, though.
Tell us about that this weekend. Thank you, Aaron.
This weekend, we will be hosting our second Trunk or Treat,
which is Pups, Pumpkins and Ponies.
We're working with a bunch of different local vendors,
different businesses. We've got ponies coming out from a local barn.
We have pumpkin decorating.
We've got a local dog rescue that comes out.
So we're doing pup adoptions.
We were working with the school across the street.
So it's turned into a very, very large, very community oriented event.
So it should be a lot of fun.
Take our word for it, you want to check them out.
Tell them about the robots.
Where's the event again?
This is going to be at Flooring Master at our home location.
In Riverview.
They have robots as well.
Robots.
They can ride in.
They can ride in.
Oh, wow.
What I like about robots is they don't eat the barbecue.
No, don't got to share with them.
It's delicious.
It is.
MF Barbecue stands for Meck Family Barbecue.
They make all of this stuff themselves, and it is incredible.
Thank you, guys.
We'll have to have you come back soon.
Maybe next week.
All right.
