**The Sunrise Movement & My Encounter with the Police**
I was on my way to Waynesville, NC, to audit the police department and other government buildings. As I arrived, I encountered a protest that I initially mistook for a "Back the Blue" rally. To my surprise, the Sunrise Movement and Antifa organized it.
I made multiple attempts to interview the protesters, but they all ran away. One young boy even had the audacity to falsely accuse me of putting my hands on him—a blatant lie. In today’s climate around law enforcement, it’s crucial to recognize the risks of calling for help. You never know how things might escalate.
The protest centered on flooding issues in Haywood County, NC. These young people exhibited behaviors reminiscent of Antifa, and it was evident that the police felt pressured to ignore their actions, opting instead to shake hands with them. The dynamics at play here are alarming and need to be addressed.
