AI GeneratedThe Indianapolis Colts have fired General Manager Chris Ballard after six weeks of the season. The discussion centers on whether Head Coach Shane Steichen should also be dismissed, citing a series of poor personnel decisions and a lack of depth that has left the team in a precarious position.
Let's start with Indianapolis
and what it means to you that the Colts today after six
weeks of football has determined that the GM is the problem
and thus Chris Ballard is
out.
This is normally step one of a multiple step process,
but what's your reaction to the Colts
firing Chris Ballard today?
Shane Steichen should have been turning in his key card as well.
Why?
Why is he still around?
Wait, you know, you're not carrying him after this year, right?
if we're cleaning the house pull out the broom pull out
the vacuum let's get all the dust bunnies
out of here baby like why is he still around I I don't like you're
not going to allow him to go
into 2027 you're not going to allow him
to draft another quarterback I mean Peralta we weren't
alone in thinking that it was a bad idea going into a make
or break season for a GM and a head
coach that you were depending upon
a quarterback coming off in an Achilles uh tear you are
depending upon a wide receiver coming off a heel surgery
who needed even more time and there's
basically nothing behind him you traded two first round picks
for a cornerback and that looks like
a massive overpay hello joey porter jr
for waiting yeah it's just bad move after bad move after bad move
and basically we all knew that coming into this season the GM
and the head coach were possibly
dead men walking and yet Shane Steichen still is drawing
a paycheck as the time of we are discussing
this entire situation and i'm not out here saying everybody needs
to get fired i understand like
you have families you have everything like these are real people
but still you are firing the GM
the head coach should be gone gone as well one more thing on the Colts
and we'll get to the Eagles
when you look at the franchise in in the direction
that they're going to have to go here
how concerned are you if you're a Colt fan sitting here today
and you're going all right so our
GM is out our head coach is next we have an owner
who is clearly trying to put her own stamp on
everything what do you make of the future
from a leadership perspective for Indianapolis did you
feel confident that they've got the right people
in place to make the decisions or is this a team
that might be wavering here a bit in terms
of their direction i feel okay about it like i know
that the the internet likes to have uh you know their their punches
and and all their opinions
about uh about what she does
from a leadership leadership perspective as far as her say but
how is it a bad thing for somebody leading
a company an organization to do two things
immerse themselves in everything they possibly can
to be a better leader to educate themselves
as much as they possibly can to be a better leader
to truly understand what's going on in
the day-to-day as opposed to being what a false symbol
a puppet uh not being a leader just being
a symbol head would everybody feel more comfortable
if she was doing that so like i feel okay about it
like this is i look at what she is doing from a leadership
and a company perspective and i'm
all on board like if you cannot handle
accountability you shouldn't be in one of
these positions of power
and decision making if you can't handle somebody not looking over
your shoulder but asking you to justify
the things that you're doing or saying hey
fine like what's going on explain
this to me like i'm fine if you can't do those things
in any walk of life do you truly understand what even
the hell you're doing
