Fox 5 News alert. Atlanta police need help
identifying suspects in a recent shooting.
One of them left a man dead
and another sent a 13-year-old to the hospital.
And today's Alex Whitler is at the Fox 5 Live desk
with the surveillance video investigators want you to see.
Alex?
It could make all the difference, Ron.
The first case is the most recent one
happening early Sunday morning around 4 a.m.
at an apartment complex on Hank Aaron Drive.
When officers arrived, they discovered a 13-year-old boy had been shot.
Investigators say it appears someone targeted the apartment
and it was all with gunfire.
The teen's family says this is the second time he's
been shot at that same complex.
So to help find the person or people responsible,
Atlanta police shared this video showing a group of people
who officers say ran off toward Frazier Street after the shooting.
Now, all of them are wearing dark clothing with their faces covered.
The next case has gone unsolved a little bit longer here.
It was back on Sunday, September 27th,
when Atlanta police showed up to investigate a report
of a person shot on Cushman Circle.
That's where they learned 25-year-old Elijah Brookshire
had been killed. It wasn't immediately clear what happened to him,
but investigators later realized
he had, in fact, been shot
and someone had left with him in their car to try to get him to the
hospital, but they didn't get there.
The driver apparently pulled over on Michael Langford Drive
after noticing Brookshire had stopped breathing.
Emergency personnel later pronounced him dead on the scene.
Now take a look at this.
The suspect APD is searching for is outlined in that red box.
He's seen walking across the yard there toward the street.
Police say he was seen with shoulder-length locks,
dark green joggers, black socks, and no shoes
with a black tank top draped over his shoulder.
APD asks for tipsters
who recognize any of the people seen in these clips
to give them a call.
And Ron, a helpful tip could be worth up to $5,000. Yeah,
hopefully they can get the help they need for sure.
All right, Alex, thank you so much.
