And now we're going to head out to eastern Arizona,
that Clifton-Morenci area, where we're getting pictures
as the storm caused a lot of trouble in Greenlee County,
almost over there to New Mexico.
Irene Schneider, live with that part of the story. Irene.
Good morning, guys. Well, the Clifton area was hit by heavy rain
and flooding, leading to some landslides out there as well.
The storm's hitting the region near
the New Mexico border yesterday evening.
pictures from the Greenlee County Sheriff showing
the damage in the town of Clifton.
The Sheriff's Office and Police Department, they say Public Works,
is now trying to clear the roadways that were impacted by the debris.
The agency is also confirming that several cars were damaged.
Local residents also sharing pictures and video of damage with us.
Diana Padilla snapped these photos from inside her house.
She says about four inches of rain flooded into her home,
followed by two inches of mud just as she was making dinner.
Sitting down and eating when all of a sudden,
you know, the rain got a little worse.
And then, you know, next thing you know,
we look down and there's water entering our apartment.
And it was just so quick, you know, and it is horrible.
This rock slide that happened, my house was below everything.
And that's what kind of caused my house to flood.
The road behind us, the cars are almost buried by rocks and mud.
It's insane.
And the police and sheriff's office are asking anyone
who's around there to please avoid the flooded areas.
